Brownells you guys have knocked it out of the park with this man. Congratulations to all employees for making this happen. I recall reading a thread that stated more was in store for us AR10 heads so I ask will the KLM Airlines shorty make the line up? Guys on the forum, wouldn't it be cool if some country out there adopted the BRN-10 as its battle rifle?
Thanks so much Brownells. |

I know the green furniture on my 601 from them looks better in person then in pictures. I think the brown will be darker in person.
Either way, I can't wait to get the email that it is shipped. |

View Quote I love the 2 AR-10 models that you have out now and it’s very hard not to pull the trigger and buy one but I just have to hold out and wait and see if Brownells is going to come out with a proper Portuguese model AR-10! I always wanted a Portuguese AR-10 but they were always hard to find and out of my price range. Please come out with a Portuguese model Brownells!!! |

Are the brownells .308 mags good to go or not? Looks like there are a fair amount of negative reviews of them. Lots of users have reported function issues. Have these issues been resolved and are these magazines now good to go? There are currently on sale for $9 if you buy the 10 pack and use the $10 off coupon.

Brownells just called to confirm I still wanted the rifle. Hopefully that means it will ship this week. :)

Same here, and the Brownell's rep said it should ship (10A) within 24 hours! So, I should have it by Friday or Monday! She still has no ETA in the 10B I ordered, but that's OK, it will split up the fun.

Received notification of (2) BRN-10A’s Shipping out to me today!

View Quote thanks again Brownells! |

Received the confirmation on the 10a. Hope it ships tomorrow and arrives by Friday.

Are any of these retro AR10's able to take optics? Obviously the one's with the prototype charging handle can't but I was just wondering. I'd like to use my AAC 7.62-SDN-6 suppressor on one also if the barrel threads are 5/8x24 TPI.

Wow, that looks great.

Hi Guys,
First post here. I've been following discussions here on AR.15.com about Brownells AR10 since it was introduced at SHOT. I'm happy to say that I just picked mine up from the FFL on my lunch break today. I didn't have much time to examine it in the store, but liked what I saw in the few minutes that I had to look it over. I could try to post a pic but it would look just like the one above. I assume that the slightly mottled discoloring on the receiver finish is some sort of preservative that will clean off. Upper to lower fit was nice and tight for someone that is accustomed to a rattly old SP1. I will be going over it with a fine toothed comb later today when I get it home. Congrats to the rest of you all who are starting to see yours show up. Kindest Regards, Tom |

You guys just take the thing out and shoot it tonight and let us know.
|

BRN-10 definitely feels good. Tight, well built. Can’t wait for the correct style grip. Trigger was crisp. I’ll hopefully shoot Sunday if the ole boss lets me out.

I don’t own newer AR10s only FALs, M1A, PTR91 and Ar15s. Balance reminds me of my SP1 and A1 build, but a little heavier. I’ll break her down tonight and get a better sense once I’ve had more time and shoot.

@brownells
What weight is the carbine going to come in as ? I’d love to have a 7ish pound 308! |

Can't wait to get mine. I'm a little sad Brownells didn't put their markings on the front of the magwell (like nodak's prototypes) so that we can put faux dutch markings on the sides. Does that make me any less excited to own one? Hell no. I'm getting ancy!

It's about 7.5 lbs. No firm ETA yet on those, hoping for this Fall.
Just got the shipment of BRN-10B rifles. We need to inspect things here then they'll go out next week. |

First thing I noticed with my BRN-10A is the hand guard is a lot thicker then the BRN-601.
My 601 guard will flex when you squeeze it, the 10A guard doesn't flex at all. It is 2 to 3 times thicker and has a male/female ridge/grove that locks it together where they meet along the edge. Now the box mine came in looked like someone threw it off the roof. Holes in the side of box and tears in the foam. I didn't see any damage to rifle, so hopefully I'm good. |
|
Can anyone confirm if the hand guards have heat shields? I think I can see them in images but I am not sure. Brownells said earlier that they wouldnt.

Sorry to hear about the box. Were the tears in any particular location? We'll look into how these are being shipped. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Holes in the side of box and tears in the foam. I didn't see any damage to rifle, so hopefully I'm good. First tear in the foam is where the stock was all the way to the back of box and when it was dropped on the muzzle end, the three prong dug into the foam as it slid about 2.5-3.0 inches, ripping a triangle in foam(and probably preventing damage to flash suppressor. 2nd tear looks like the flag also caught on foam in unison with prong to help stop rifle moving further. This drop would explain the wrinkles on the muzzle end of box. The tear through the box is a second drop where the front sight punched through the top of the box, with the upper/handle making an imprint on the cardboard inside the box. Looks like it was like that for a while. Front sight sticking 1-1.5 inches out of box. There are crumpled cardboard where front sight ripped the box as it was moving/thrown around. Lastly, looks like a box, small and heavy crushed in the box over the "retro" logo because it wasn't wide enough to reach the sides of the rifle box. My BRN-601 came with a perfect box with very little shipping marks. |
