I just don't understand the mystical fanaticism these days with Chinese AKs. I was around before the Clinton days, and they were considered trash then, and nothing has changed since. The only really good thing out of a Chinese AK is the trigger group.

Yea, yea, thicker receiver, yada yada, I say, out of spec everything, so nothing works with it.

It's not a fanaticism, I wouldn't call it that...to me it's like taking a '67 Camaro and putting hydraulics on it. I'm just saying I wouldn't do that, but I respect OPs creativity and workmanship. Maybe I'm just too old school.

I'm with you, not into Chinese AKs at all. I honestly think the only thing that makes people consider them valuable is their importation ban. In the rest of the world (Africa and Middle East really) they are the cheapest AKs you can get.
In my opinion, if it's something you would do to a WASR then it's ok to do to a Chinese AK. Maybe if it's a Polytech just sell it and buy something else since they go for so much.
