Haven't seen a whole lot in flashlight mounts that didn't require an ultimak or lower handguard change. Really like this CDM Gear BC47-2. Clamps around the barrel, holds alignment with the gas block, and doesn't eat up already limited handguard space. Works well with my Streamlight PolyTac. Haven't shot it yet but don't really expect anything to go wrong with it.

The concern of it that I have is the heat transfer, being right on the barrel at the gas block. I've seen people drill rail segments into their gas tube covers and slap a light up there too, that's another way to do it. Just get some nuts and a washer to hold it in place!

Considering that its made from aluminum I don't really expect there to be much issue with heat, at least anymore than you would see from using Utlimaks. |
