Thanks for the review. Pretty hard to justify paying more $$ for an Arsenal when a M70 works just as well. Arsenal needs to use a Cerakote or other finish to improve the durability.

I agree, I got the 107R on a pretty even trade.
I for one would never pay over $1500 for any AK and most ARs for that matter.

I have no experience with the pap but the 107r was the least impressive ak I've owned.  Carrier deformed at 350 rds and mag catch was crooked.  Fortunately it was fixed under warranty.  I wouldn't buy another new one or used at current prices.

I've never understood why some people go for the 107R when the SAM7 isn't much more and is a much beefier and better made AK.

Unless they just want a stamped Arsenal...

Reasons for stamped:
1. Weight = lighter gun, quicker handling and pointing
2. Availability = always 107s for sale used, some at better prices than the SAM7
3. Non-issue durability = Sure milled tougher will go over 150,000rds but stamped at least 100,000rds, well beyond what many will fire during the ownership of the gun.
So one is really not getting full benefit of milled gun since they will not get anywhere near the wear out point.

Milled gun might have a little better felt recoil, but that can be matched in a stamped gun with a KNS piston and muzzle break
