[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Will MidWest GEN2 AK M70 Handguard fit Zastava M77 308?

I tried the Texas Weapons short Gen 3 Yugo handguard, but it's not compatible with the Zastava M77 308 rifle (the replacement gas tube that comes with the handguard is too short). Suggestions?

M70 Handguards should work, however anything that replaces the gas tube may have issues as you discovered.

As you can see Rob is using the UTG Pro M70 Mlok handguard with a M70 cheese grater.

If I recall, the TWS Gas Cylinder was also shorter on my WASR and only served as a guide.

Got pics of it mounted up?

The rear end of the TWS handguard lower didn't mate up with the receiver. Given the upper handguard issues (short replacement gas tube), I didn't attempt to modify the lower handguard in order to make it fit. I did take it to my local gunsmith, and he reached the same conclusion.

Just heard back from MidWest Industries, and unfortunately the answer is no. They suggested trying SLR Rifleworks, which I will do once they're reopened for business. SLR is located in Winter Haven, FL, about 40 miles east of Tampa. I'm sue Ian hit them hard.
