Wanting to build a straight stock AK47. Going to get a parts kit. There's the $85 with the trunion holes drilled and $89 without. |

Might as well go without holes drilled as you will want to make sure everything lines up.

Do Romanian kits have a 1mm trunion?

Yes Romanian ak 63/65 use 1mm receivers. If you’re building from a kit (and it’s Romanian, and not an RPK) you will need a 1mm thick receiver.

I have both the undrilled and drilled trunion hole receivers. The drilled match up perfectly to my trunnions.

Do different manufacturers use different sized receivers?
I got an akbuilder blank and ended up getting a childers guide tool. The front trunnion looks to match up ok, but looking at the back the trunnion sticks out the back a little. I haven't drilled the holes yet, but it looks like all of the pictures I see online have it sitting flush with the receiver. |
