Trying to get an idea of value. Have a Valmet M78 with a 16 inch barrel (standard Valmet flash hider), skeletonized stock (synthetic), with thumbhole as on a standard M78. NO bipod and has a scope rail and mount.

That is not really in line with what I have seen.  I have a 2 Valmet 78s, one with a skeletonized stock but it is marked correctly and has the correct long barrel and scope mount.

This one seems like a modded gun with those specs.  There was a M76 in .308 with a shorter barrel but the point of the 78 was the long barrel (they made both milled and stamped RPK like receivers and they made the 78 in .223, 7.62x39 and .308).

Can you post pics of the receiver and how it is marked (both importer and manufacturers markings), including the rear of the receiver and the stock?
