Just recently tried one from VZ58 USA and the force required to activate it requires both my pointer and middle finger even with the magazine completely removed. Anyone else experience this?

I had one of those bolt releases, maybe no that exact one, but it was pretty tough to actuate as well.

I had one from somewhere overseas, along with an extended mag release. I replaced it with the original since it was sort of irritating and using it didn't work well. I think it's the angle you have, it's hard to actually push "down" with enough force.
It's been a while since I tried it though, so can't recall exactly. Threw it back in the parts bin and didn't look back. |

With the RH CH bolt carrier I just swept my left hand up and over the receiver to hit the CH and release the bolt carrier. It was pretty darn fast to swap mags that way.
Since I got the LH BC my left hand has to move even less than before and mag changes are even faster. AJ |

I have one on my VZ2008. It works very well. I also have the ambi mag release.
