Was there a new shipment of the Russian Alum Mags?  I see several places have them back in stock.

What does the Hive think of these?  FO or not?  They seem to be about $120-$130ea for "AK Mag Collecting"?

Thanks,
D

It would be nice to have one if you were a collector. IIRC, these did not stay in service very long because they were not very durable.

This.  Get if you are a collector.  If not there are better things to spend that money on IMHO.

Yep. As far as I know, the aluminum or "waffle mag" is the only production AK mag ever recalled in the USSR. Serious durability issues. On the other hand, no rust issues and they remain, to this day, the lightest Soviet/Russian mil 30 rnd 762 AK mag ever made. Fun factoid: other than the spring, every part in these mags is aluminum. Funner factoid: "Type 0" prototype AG4 mags (1959-1962) also used the same aluminum followers.
