Would it be possible to use two rivet squeezer dies and a c clamp to install long rivets(and triggerguard?)? I was thinking you could dremel the tail off then squeeze them together. I'm looking at these tools people sale, and they seem to pretty much do the samething.

For the long rivet it would be hard. The jigs they sell are designed to keep the crush pressure perfectly straight, any slight angle and your rivet tail will start to bend over instead of crush flat making a perfect round head.

I’ve had to redo a few rear trunnion long rivets due to this happening.

Thanks for the info.

How hard is it to sale build tools? I'm only planning on building 1 AK and having a hard time spending $600 on stuff I'm only going to use once.

Nice. So what would you use for the rear one? Buy a second one and cut it?

The rear single hole use a screw and nut from hardware store.

The plate is designed to make it easier then making bolts/nuts clear the hammer spring.   It even says the hammer spring maynot have enough clearance.  I wonder if a non braided hammer spring would solve that problem.

I suppose the plate would also aid fitting a virgin trigger guard and/or mag release.
