How can you make sure the mount is centered over the bore?

I've emailed RS Regulate several times but they won't reply.

I just eyeball it. I put the gun in a vice and line up the mount with the centerline of the barrel.

Pulling the gas tube off helps.

One could use a laser or a string, but eyeballing it is fine.

Measure width of bore.

Put piece of masking tape with one edge in exactly the middle over it, vertically.

Measure width of optic’s objective lens and put another piece of tape on it.

Take a piece of wood with a flat edge and cover the masking tape while looking at the front of the gun, you should be able to tell pretty easily if the scope is off center enough to matter.

Eyeball it like they did when they built the rest of the AK

Just a heads up.

You may get things perfectly centered, only to find out how crooked the rest of the rifle is

I've always eyeballed it... you will make the final adjustment with the scope/ optic anyway...
