Picked up a .30 cal ammo can of 7.62x39, 25 boxes for $80.  Just glanced inside to confirm it was Wolf 7.62 and full.  Got home and pulled some out to see that it is all Wolf 154gr SP instead of FMJ.  Is this stuff any good.  I don't know much about it.  Would it be good in a suppressor due to the heavier weight?  Just curious.  Btw, picked up a couple 84S Norinco 30rd mags for $10 each and 9 new Uzi 30's for $100.  I think I did ok.

I have one Yugo that objects to feeding the SP, but otherwise I've had no issues with it.

It won't hit the same place as 124 grain, so your ladder sight or BDC will be near useless.

But it's good ammo and has killed a lot of deer in the USA.

Should work as well or better through a can.

I don't think the 154 gr soft points cost any more than 123 gr. fmj but my WASR seems to group them better than fmj. Maybe cause the bullets are a little longer.

I've not had an issue running any soft points thru my WASR, Draco or Hungarian folder, but I've seen fewer complaints re: feeding issues with the Wolf 154 vs other stuff.

It's good ammo and a good hunting round.

Depending on velocity, Ive found that at 100 if you use the "2" setting you'll be pretty close.

Interesting; I thought Tula was the only maker of the 154 gr SP. Whatever, makes a good defense or hunting round. In an SBR it can be used in the defensive mode when over-penetration is a concern. It already has lower velocity from a 16" barrel and is even slower in a 10". In a 20" SKS, you pick up velocity so it can be an important hunting round.
