I was surfing around here a few days ago and impulse ordered an AA Bravo mount.  I'm normally not into modding AKs, but the sights were hard enough to see 10 years ago and my eyes are not what they once were.  This will be going on a Bulgarian 74 kit build; actually the first AK I built about 15 years ago.  I have a Holosun 403, Sig Romeo 5, and an Aimpoint R1 that could potentially go on this mount.  I think that I might also have a Sig MSR sight somewhere in the parts bin.  Is there any reason to chose one over another from the standpoint of functionality?

I normally wouldn't think that there would be any difference, but I saw someone mention in another thread that minor size differences could make the sight picture different.  I'd prefer the optic as low as practical and would like to be able to see the mount's BUIS through the optic, if possible.

I'm also not opposed to buying something different if it would work better, but I can't justify T2 money at this time.

I run a Sig Romeo 5 on my AKMS with this exact mount and it's held up perfectly so far.  About 400 rounds thru it, the Romeo 5 has retained zero perfectly. I would use plenty of locktite on both the smaller mounting screws and the big mounting screw.

Thank you.  Is the BUIS notch on the mount visible through the glass of the Romeo 5?

Back when I had my SLR-106 I had an AA mount with a Sig Romeo 5. The rear sight notch is visible and usable

@JJL0325

What distance are you using to zero the AA mount iron sight? Assuming 123gr FMJ and in the 2400ish fps range ammo.

I just received my bravo mount and not sure what distance to zero. Thanks.
