Just curious, anyone out there still have one of the old Spec Ops brand AK chest rigs up and running?  They haven't been made in years as far as I know, set up a bit like the old Chinese style, but with a radio pouch on the right side?

If so, have you done any modifications?  I bought one probably near 20 years ago now and never really played around with it, now I'm thinking about taking another lool.

If we’re on the same page I’ve got one in my storage locker someplace that I was issued in Iraq back in 2005. For some arcane reason everybody was calling them “ Rhodesian rigs” I guess cuz’ the name sounded more cool guy (kinda like naming all sorts of military techniques “Australian”). Back then I used to try out a lotta different gear options and it wasn’t too long before I ditched it for Molle pouches. I never did any mods to it but for the money (even though I got it free) I thought it was a pretty effective “grab and go” system.

I bought mine in the early 2000s, a few years before the ban was lifted certainly... maybe '01 or so?  I'm thinking that if there was a way to rig up some kind of H harness and retrofit the radio pouch into something a bit more useful for my needs it could still be a really sweet piece of kit.
