Sadly, Not a snowballs chance in Hell...

Dems have Russia (I think mainly for abandoning and thus admitting the failure of Socialism - Communism)

Republicans not keen on Russia for the Whole Invasion of Crimea & proxy war thing linked to Putin...

To be honest, I'm frankly shocked that ammo is still allowed to be imported from Russia...

"Never" is a long time.

Yes, it is entirely possible that Russian imports will come back someday -- just depends on how long your "someday" time horizon is.

I don't believe they'll be back in the foreseeable future, which is too bad since they build some fine rifles.

There are still examples available from already in stock, and the secondary market, and anyone who wants one needs to buy now.

I picked up a FM-AK47-21 Vepr in September and I'm glad I did.

Yea, never is the most likely answer. Just look at Polytech and Norinco. Does anyone remember why they were embargoed at this point? We're friendly(ish) with China and yet the embargo on those companies remain.

This isn't a reason to give up when it comes to reminding your politicians they are supposed to represent your interests. But it is a reason to go ahead and buy a Russian gun while they're still generally available.

Same as Russia, as in I don't imagine it will go away in the foreseeable future.

(A) We have some GeoPolitical 'Tensions' with them (upsets Republicans)

(B) Throw in some oppression of their dissidents. (upsets Democrats)

And then top it all off with some "Trade War" for good measure...

Still kicking myself in the fucking nuts for passing up an unconverted Saiga 5.45 for $400 and 300 rounds of 7n6 for free with the purchase at my local gun shop a year ago or so! Since this thread has resurfaced, maybe we can use it to help fellow Arfcommers and lurkers to find some of them still out there for sale! I love the darkside and love helping people out, and getting them into the right hands regardless!

Purchased 4 RAK AK47 from Atlantic arms and holding on to them till the price is right. Marked made in Russian, never fired any of them.
