It is a forged receiver, full stock, left side Chinese marked, right side "L D" marked, factory automatic weapon and is transferrable.  This is not a battlefield pickup weapon.  According to Dolf Goldsmith and Frank Iannamico it was probably a sales sample sent to a South/Central American country.  It came from an estate sale and  I've had it over 16 years.

Most of the components have the same serial number.

The bolt has a different serial number.

And the recoil spring guide is Russian/Soviet marked.

I've tried, but I'm just too stupid to embed a ewe-toob video.  Sorry.

Awesome, thanks for sharing!

The full auto Chinese (Type 56) AK’s are different from the American market ones, like the Polytech’s, Norinco’s and MAK-90’s. The barrel is threaded on instead of being pinned, more like the original Type 3 AK-47. I believe it should have originally come with a telescopic recoil assembly (I think you can find one on polytechparts.com). It’s a very rare and valuable AK in the USA, even if it were not full auto—it’s a unicorn.

Does the barrel have wrench flats at the base?

I believed it does.  I'll pull it from the safe, take a peek, and report back.
