The website said it reduces felt recoil and flash; so it is both a flash suppressor AND muzzle brake?
[#5]
Mainly flash reducing. It does reduce muzzel rise also.

what is your take on the slant brake for ak47/mak90?if you can't be careful,be careless
[#7]
My take is if it didnt work would they leave them on for 60 years??. There is however always room for improvement and american made parts.

Good price point for what I'm sure is a solid product. Any comparisons done yet with the fsc47 or vortex in terms of flash reduction? I'm assuming better than the fsc47, as it's not considered a true flash hider.

We compared it to what came on the rifle. We did not get into a side by side environment . We tested it to see we were happy with what we had and and the results. I was not going to go out and buy every muzzle device on the market. I think it works real well and it looks cool on top of it.

I would be interested in this piece but I wouldn't know if I would be wasting $30 or not. I dont doubt it to be a good piece of gear, dont get me wrong. Im just saying that money could possibly go to a muzzle device that I have seen work on youtube like the Vortex or the FSC47. And if im going to be spending any money I want to know im getting the best possible piece for my budget. So if you guys could possibly do a test against some nameless devices like the 74 flashhider, the slant break and the birdcage, I could then gauge from that just how well this new piece works. I know about 5 people with aks who would love this if it was proven to work best.

I think slant brakes have been common for how simple they are, cheap and rather effective
http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/9544/flashhider.jpg I rechecked after uploading this picture, the inside is NOT brown like the photo makes it look. Crappy cell phone camera flash vs the orange glow of the light in my trunk. The flash reduction is ridiculous on this fella, especially vs what i recall with the slant brake. I didn't have my slant on hand to compare directly, but this brake works extremely well vs a non braked ak (duh). I cant compare recoil pushback as my slant brake was fired with a rubber padded thumbhole stock and this was fired on the nonpadded folding tapco well worth my money for how well it works, havent smashed a window with it yet but it makes my gun look cool as hell My MAK90 http://imageshack.us/a/img12/5616/stopq.jpg |

On my 7.62 AK it was an ok flash hider. Not much of a brake though.

I picked up one, a while back. I absolutely love this product. Since buying the first one, I have picked up another four. These work great, and have a great price point.
