So I recently picked up a used m92 and I didnt take it apart until I got home yesterday but this is what I found. Both the hammer and tail of the carrier show damage (hammer is much worse). So my question is, should I return it? Or just reprofile the hammer? Or just stick a new tapco or surplus hammer and roll with it?

May add a wolff extra power spring as well. Spring seems a little soft

Thanks for your time.

I ended up sanding and polishing the hammer and burs back out to see how it runs. The bolt does hang up still on the hammer when pulling the carrier back slowly.

I may end up putting an agl trigger group in it. I've never seen that much damage on a hammer though out of all my aks.

Always does on my m92. Most AKs, too, AFAIK.
Looks like a soft hammer. How would recoil do that?
