As stated above, Yugo surplus M67. It is corrosive, however. RAS used to come in a variety of favors, including copper-jacketed/brass-cased, but I haven't seen as much of that recently.

There's also the Geco brand brass cased that is I believe boxer primed. More expensive of course and you'll need to search a bit for some available/in stock. Sportsmans Guide used to have some but they look out of stock for now.

I have some Geco that I picked up from Targetsportsusa a while back. They haven't had it in stock in a few months but if I recall it was about 40cents/rd.

I used to see brass Winchester white box sometimes. It was expensive, 90 Cents a round I think. I don't see it available online anywhere.

Best, and cheapest bet is Red Star, hit or miss finding it but usually about .50 / round YMMV.

I've found both PMC and Winchester white box. 75 cents each for the PMC and 1.25 for the white box.
I'll be shooting mostly steel cased but want to do some loading so want some brass. thanks, All. |

Federal 7.62x39mm 124 gr FMJ American Eagle is also brass cased but kind of pricey.

Cabelas sells the Herters brand x39 and it is produced by Sellier&Bellot also.

That Winchester white box is underpowered compared to most commie ammo and isn't worth the price. I'd stick with the other brass already mentioned, M67, Fiocchi etc.

No huge quantities, but, commercial loader in Knoxville, TN has some. Parabellum Ammo (Ryan Patrick). He is good to go and so is his work.

I like geco 7.62x39, rural King in my area has it for $7.49 for a box of 20 rounds. I bought 1000 rounds for $375 plus tax but they had a 12% in store rebate going on so after the rebate it was $360.

Hornady Black comes in brass case with a 123gr SST. OOS almost everywhere there

So I used a 06 head size shell holder which is a bit sloppy. Just DO NOT try to load those Albainian x54r cases as that brass is complete junk.

I wish Wolf Gold was available in 7.62x39.
Assuming the OP is just looking for inexpensive brass cased ammo and not reloading brass, my preference is PPU or Herters when I can get it for 50 cents/round. Geco is good stuff as well although their 7.62x39 is Hungarian, not as good as their Swiss or German ammo. I always recommend Yugo M67 if you’re comfortable cleaning up after corrosive ammo. I’ve run it thru multiple ARs & AKs with zero rust. Last I saw it was around 35 cents/round. Red Army is OK but for me the PPU shoots better. |

You might run across some Cheetah once in awhile. I've found it pretty good ammo but shooting less of it these days to conserve supply.
