Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hornady SST Steel Case vs Hornady Black SST

I love the Hornady SST in the 50 round boxes with the steel case.   I can buy them for $31/50 round box online.   Hornady released the Black line with brass casings and the SST bullet for $20/ box of 20.  In an AK that loves steel cased ammo, why would anyone pay 40% more for a brass case?

Any advantages of the Black line over the standard SSTs?

I have a Rock River LAR 47 that shoots circles around every 7.62 AK I have ever shot or owned.  And it eats steel cased all day long, the SST will print 5 rounds into one hole at 50 and under an inch at 100 with a 3x ACOG
I haven't put a bigger scope on it yet
Don't knock 7.62 AR until you try one of these they use AK mags and have all the positive features of an AR and AK
