I brought this back in 2005.  The locking echanism needs to be taken apart and cleaned out, and one scale is cracked but it is sharp and stabby.

Any ideas where this was made?

I'm thinking it might be Russian. Are there any markings?

The grey painted frog strikes me as very German, but I could be way off.

I thought the scabbard looked East German too.

I found an article.  The bayonet itself is an Ak-47 bayonet (not AKM). The scabbard is Russian.  Russia and Bulgaria made the same scabbard per the article.  Russia put their drain hole on the front.  The Bulgarians put their drain holes on the back.

Its German. I had one of those when I had a Milled Polytech. Couldnt find a bayonet for it and I think Sportsmans guide had them.
