I have a Galil Model 392, the SN starts with AAL-208XXXX. no S no box, has a wood fore grip, carry handle and all the markings are in english. Is there a way to find out what year the Galil was made? They guy I bought it from says its from 1969, but I'm not 100% sure.

AAL is action arms from the 1980's.
I'm unaware of any Galils brought in until the early '80s with Magnum Research.

didn't enter service until 1972- so, good sales pitch but way off base.

pull the hand guard off and look at the date code on the barrel- should be close to actual production date.
