So finally at the point I can consider starting to collect the parts for an SAR build.

From my research, it seems that Tortor and CNC Warrior make the best Galil type receivers.

What are your experiences and why would I consider one over the other?

I would get an 80 percent Tortort and have it built WITH / TO a barrel sourced by Jeff Miller along with your parts kit.  That will give you the best bang for your buck.

Jeff Miller built mine and sourced the barrel for it.  It is stupid, shoot the lights out accurate.  

You WILL have to wait quite a while on the build.

It WILL be worth it.
