Ok, so I have been lusting after a 5.45 Galil Ace Gen II for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger.

Which barrel length is best to go with the 8.3 or 13". I currently have a AKS74U Tula build, so not sure I need another super shorty but I do love short guns.

Ballistically do you lose that much in 5.45 at 8.3 v. 13"?

What thread pitch are the barrels in these? I would like to suppress it, but I cannot seem to find that information anywhere.

Any and all input is welcome.

I bought one of the 13" pistols.  I didn't want such a short barrel as the 8.3", but then I went a bought a "limited edition" Gen 1 Rock N Lock 5.56, so ?

The 13" seems pretty heavy and long for a pistol.  But just right for a carbine and I plan to SBR mine.  Have had it less than a month and have not fired it yet, so cannot add much else.

The manual is here:  Manual

It says the rifle is 4 groove RH 1:7.5" twist.
