Man, had fun tonight with my new SLR. Front sight detent got stuck inside, so I drifted out the pin, removed the detent, cleaned and oiled and put it back but the front sight pin was a MF'r to drift back in. I even used a pin punch from the left to act as a slave pin to keep the detent alight correctly and that front sight pin did not want to go in. Was drifting from right to left, from the perspective of a shooter. Is it supposed to go back in from left to right? Does it even matter on an AK front sight pin? Thanks!

All of my AK sight assemblies have had straight solid pins, therefore no preferred entry/removal direction.

OK, cool. That's what I was thinking, but I must have deformed the pin enough pounding it out that it just didn't want to go in. I ordered a couple spares from KVAR, so I'll tackle it again when the new pins get here. Thanks!
