You may have already seen this, but MAC explains that trimming is necessary to get the Fostech Echo to fit. He doesn't show any detail but does say that the bracket needs a little dremel work and then it drops right in. So trim it enough to "drop right in". If it's any relief, the MAC bracket was added to keep empties from potentially falling into the FCG. He says in the video that the Echo takes up the gap, so I'd imagine that empties shouldn't be an issue, post installation. Go to approximately the 6:20 mark.

I've watched that video a couple of times and LOVED it!
With all the "fixes" made to the AKV-9, cases and rounds falling into the FCG should no longer be an issue. Look out gun! I've got a Dremel and I'm comin' for ya!
