Placed on order with
DK Firearms on Dec 15, it shipped on the 17th, and arrived yesterday, Dec 19. I put a note in my order asking for them to include at least one Tula in the order, since I already had an Izhmash. They shipped me one of each. Both magazines look very lightly used, if at all (I'm not sure what a brand new Bakelite mag looks like). The Tula has a few scratches on the sides and magazine well wear at the top, but both look good otherwise - no evidence that they been dropped or banged around. Insides look clean, no real carbon that I can find, just a little Cosmoline. The one on the left in all three photos below is the first Izhmash that I got at a show last weekend, the middle is the Izhmash from DK Firearms, and right is the Tula. The Tula doesn't have any ink stamping on it that I can see. I'd say DK Firearms is good to go, and the free shipping is great. I'd recommend them. They're expensive, but I guess it's what the market is charging for them. I found some listed online for as high as $100, and number of places in the $70 range.
The two Izhmash mags have different baseplates. I know there were several (four?) styles of baseplates used on these mags, but is either style specific to one of the brands, or is it just a matter of when they were produced?
