Pretty much everything but Red Army Standard.

Prefer Golden Tiger or the Barnaul SG was selling.

Edit: for whatever reason my 74 just didnt like the Red Army and would fail to extract.

Odd, I ran 1000rds of them between my 4 AK's:  2x kit built, 1x Saiga, and 1x Vepr.  And experienced no FTF/FTE.

I think it has more to do with it being a Century build than it has to do with RA ammo.

Any one shot the Monarch 60gr at Academy?  6 bucks a box I picked up a few but haven't shot any yet.

I believe the 60gr Monarch is rebranded Barnaul (brown bear).. so no worries with them.

As far as "best" 5.45 ammo, well we can't get any of the newer versions of 7n6 here (7n6 while good is very out dated compared what the Russkies are using these days). Saying that, if it's sealed at the neck/primer, lacquered coated,  and comes in a spam can. That's about as "best" as we are going to get in the 74 game..  Hornady has been a little more consistent for me as far as accuracy and velocity,  but it's not double sealed like some of the others I preferred and is more cost prohibitive to stack. All just my opinion of course .

Shoots fine out of my Bulgy/Nodak 74.

Every time I drive past an Academy I stop and grab a few boxes. I've got close to 5K or better in the basement now along with some Wolf, RAS and 7N6.

Best stuff ive been shooting lately is the Green box Wolf mil-spec.

Also the current run of 59gr RAS ammo is actually reboxed Golden Tiger, made in the Vympel factory.

Hornady makes the most consistent, and terminally impressive with the 60gr VMAX.

Yes....

And have a good size stash in my 74's range/training ammo can. Good stuff!

Rainy day ammo is a case of Golden Tiger.... Then I have a half case of wolf green box and a half case. Of wolf classic army.

Monarch is good to go. I purchased right under 5K rounds of it two years ago when it was priced at $3.24 per 30 round box.

I shoot the cheapest stuff; Wolf brown and white camo box from SG, Tula from Sportsmans.  I'm storing the RAS golden tiger stuff from SG and have a +1 for the Wolf mil spec green box as the best so I store it now.
I have had no problems with any of it, including silver bear, out of my RD AK74 using Russian, Bulgarian, and magpul mags.  I can't really determine which is the most accurate because every one has the Russian flyer.  So they seem to shoot the same but I store the rounds with the sealant.

By the way, I listed the mags because my Romanian Aims74 mag won't feed reliably and no one knows why so now there's an asteric in my life that never existed before.  I went to AKs to avoid asterics.  Damn asterics.  Serves me right.  They were over priced anyway

I assume you don’t mean the current batch of RAS made by Vympel 59gr that is basically golden tiger.

I assume you are talking of the 69gr stuff?

I can't remember the weight, but I got it with the rifle a few years back.

I should try some more and see if it still does it,but I am thinking about ordering a crate of that Barnaul that SG has right now.

I had the same issue with the RAS 69gr 5.45x39, lots of stuck cases.
