The SAM7k uses AKSU pattern handguards, so both AKM and Type 3 will not work. Most AKSU handguards you find will be meant for stamped receivers, but they can easily be modified to fit the milled receiver. K-Var sells polymer AKSU handguards and wood varieties that are already made to fit the milled receiver (or at least they did).
