The Mrs. And I took some new boom sticks out for their maiden voyage. The PSA AK102 and 11.5" AR were both fed a healthy dose of Igman 55 GR. While the full size AP5 ran flawlessly, think I need to mod the brace on the K variant and throw some HK parts at it.

Back to the AK102. Irons were a tad low at 25 but nothing too drastic. Threw a Romeo 5 on it and got it dialed. Didn't take many pics as we were on a time crunch. Tan 240 rounds or so through it with zero malfunctions. However, the screw on the top rail/top cover loosened as been reported by others, and my lower handguard is now loose where it butts up to the receiver/trunion. I removed all screws and loctighted them when I got home but still have a little twisting wiggle in the rear of the lower handguard. Top rail/gas tube stayed secure the entire time. All 240 rounds were done in about 20 minutes. All mags used were AC Unity windowed 30 rounders.

seems accurate enough for what I plan on using it for and now that I know it functions fine, I'm going to go ahead and SBR it as I hate the triangle brace. Can't imagine how bad it is on a x39 pistol.

again sorry for lack of pics, but I'm just glad she is running good.

When you had the lower hand guard out of the trunnion, did you tighten the set screw that presses up on the bottom of the trunnion?  It applies tension for the rail to keep it tight. Mine was very loose and making zero contact when I first received it. Once I took it out and got it as snug as possible, it's held tight.

ETA: This little asshole:

Damn I'm gonna have to take it back apart. I could tell that's where it was loose from but didn't realized it had a set screw. That's exactly where the issue is.

Didn't look like any unusual wear to me. When I take it back apart to fix that piece with the set screw and I'll snap some pics of the bolt, carrier, and trunion plus inside receiver.

Picked up my base model 102 on Tuesday and had it out on the range Wednesday.  I put over 200 rounds through it with one failure to fully go into battery.  The recoil spring seemed really weak (action was cycling fairly slowly) and was at least two inches shorter than the WBP recoil spring that I replaced it with.  Already looking forward to shooting this thing a lot more.

Should be getting back out to the range later this week.  I'll put a couple hundred more through it.

Sorry guys, did a 24 hour stint at work the other day, coupled by an 8 hour 8 hours after that and now I'm back on a 16....when I get home and rested, I will be on my weekend, and kid free for the next few days so I will get pics.  Probably take her to the range again and make sure the handguard stays put this time.  But more pics will be coming, work is just kicking my ass right now.

Got the 102 back out today.  Five magazines ran just fine.  The action definitely seemed to cycle a bit quicker today.  I'm thinking the new recoil spring I put in was needed.
