Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 90 degree gas port holes in virgin barrels

I have always worked with parts kits demilled from original kits, thus having intact barrels.  Now that those are unobtainium, I see some of the virgin barrels have 90 degree gas holes,  I know those are intended for 90 degree gas blocks, but will they work with standard 45 degree gas blocks if installed?

Yes, it'll work but man, that gas port is huge.
