Very interested in your report for accuracy compared to Golden Tiger and Silver Bear
Those two are great in my SLR 104
What do you think the “purpose” of this round?
Is this 7n6 replacement for Russians? Better penetration ?

It could be just a civilian export product or it could be analogous to the Russian PRS "reduced ricochet" ball round they made some years ago. Essentially the Russians discovered that the steel cored 7n6 liked to bounce around inside the concrete/cement block houses in Chechnya (?) and posed a hazard to the shooters/entry teams doing house-to-house fighting. They developed a "reduced ricochet" round that turned out to be just a lead cored projectile LOL. It was designed by Barnaul around 2010 and has a solid lead core (no airspace in the tip) and weighs 3.85g/59 gr.

Based on the similarity to previous lead cored projectiles that have been exported to the US for years, I suspect it is just another iteration of the same basic design.

Anyone done any velocity testing of this stuff? I'd do it myself, but I'm not buying a case to chrono a box. Sorta wish they'd give us a 2700fps 70gr load, but the Russian ammo factories don't seem to like to load hot (excluding Vympel... love those guys!).

RAS 69gr existed several years ago, supposedly until the Lugansk factory in Ukraine was destroyed; it was notorious for stuck cases.

Still waiting for someone to do a velocity test as well, but these are labeled at "Mil-Spec" by Wolf which is like 100 FPS over their Military Classic line. Their 60gr Mil-Spec ammo shoots at an average of 2800 fps or so. Maybe someone can do the math and see what another 5 grains would do to the velocity. Probably around 2600-2700 FPS range I would hope.

Thanks for taking the time to do this!

It seems kinda meh? I was interested when it showed up but not sure if it’s worth the scratch now that Sam’s started raising his x39 prices.

I know, supply and demand, but who isn’t sitting on thousands of rounds of 5.45x39 already?

I only have about 4K of it, but I don't shoot much of it, and 3K is for a new 5.45 gun that who knows if I'll ever get my hands on it.
