I have paperwork already filled and in the process for two SBR's. One is a 300blk in 10.5 S.S. with a 1/8 twist. The other is 5.56 in 11.5 with a 1/7 twist.
What buffer should i go with? Thanks for any and all help.

I run an H2 in both, 10.5 300BLK 8twist, 10.5 5.56 NATO 7twist. Suppressed.

Standard carbine on my 11.5". I anticipate going with a heavier buffer once my can gets out of jail.

I run and spikes T2 buffer and Full auto BCG in every AR I own. No matter what caliber.

Can you modify a standard carbine buffer to an H buffer?

I am building an 8.5" pistol length .300 BLK

I use a semi-auto BCG and standard buffer on my 11" DD.  Has never failed, shot everything from weak Tula ammo to M193 and 69g match ammo with nor problems.  I plan on changing things out a bit once the suppressor comes in.

I highly recommend getting 2-3 buffers and 2 springs. You can get a stock buffer, spikes ST-T2 or the new parallax tactical carbide one, and a steel 9mm buffer for cheap. It doesn't cost that much to have a spare or 2 around to play with. most any buffer will "work" but why not try some out to see which works best.

Most of us have 2-4-300 ar's so why not have options?

Isn't the buffer only half the battle?  What about spring tension?  White, blue, red sprinco springs, etc.?

I've never run anything but standard carbine springs in SBR , and 16" M4 . No issues ever

I was wondering about this too...

I have a 12" that I'm having some fedding issues with mostly double feeding, sometimes a stovepipe, where the spent casing is stuck sticking out of the ejector port.  Also notes, the casings were almost always getting tossed a bit forward, say 1:00...

Last weekend a fellow shooter, let me try his Spikes T2 for a few rounds and it seemed to help it for the few rounds I got to try with it.

I could not find a T2 in stock, so I ordered one that had the same weight... I'm hoping that will do.

I've found I had a bad bolt that screwed with me , had some issues with feeding etc.. swapped in a BCG i knew was good , presto all good .
put old one back in same issues, changed just the bolt , runs great again

Ancecdotal reports of what buffers are working for individual guns are useless to you.

You really need to know your port size... which can probably be estimated by identifying the manufacturer of you barrels.

I'd suggest the VLTOR A5 system if you can scare one up... they should be hitting the market again soon I hope.  You get the adjustable stock system, but keep all the sweetness and smootheness of the Rifle buffer/spring combo.

I prefer to stick to USGI springs and Buffers with REAL weights in them.  The Spike thing just doesn't work as good as a buffer with real weights... as the high speed videos on youtube have shown.

They're Andrew from Vurhwappen Blog's videos.  They're probably easily found on Youtube.  He put several buffers in the same high speed videos.
