This gun is simply amazing, the carvings in the metal are even more so! I am going to guess this gun is priced somewhere in the low to mid 6 figures?

First off 4 barrels, two shotgun (can use slugs) and a large bore and small bore rifle barrel.

I love the elephant on the lever.

From the first picture it looks like a "Howdah", is it ? Whether it's a rifle or pistol doesn't matter, it's just an incredible piece of beautiful craftsmanship !

No, not a handgun, just short barrels.

All a question of price.  If you want a firearm that costs more than your car you can get that kind of quality.

Truly a work of art! It's also quite rare that you see these types of guns with four barrels, and even more so in three different calibers.

Beautiful!

I didn't know they still made stuff like that.

Looking at the center barrels extractor.  What do you do it the shell doesn't pop out far enough to grab it with either a finger or knife blade.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Looks like one of the famous British craftsman built weapons. Absolutely a thing of art and beauty. IF I had the disposable income, would get one made, and hang it on the wall and just stare at it ... and constantly explain to the wife why it requires just the "right" target to warrant taking it down and firing it.

Close the action slightly, and the extractors will begin retracting, allowing you to grab ahold of the base.

That is one thing I love about firearms.

The 'timelessness' of them in the sense that they can last for many decades if not centuries.

What other modern devices do we possess these days that our great-great-great grandchildren might be able to use?

I was kind of thinking the same thing; looking at it I feel like Christopher Walken in that Saturday Night live skit, just before he defenestrates himself in despair and confusion after meeting "Pat" for the first and last time!

That design was very common in Europe.  They were nice when the bird seasons and deer season would overlap.  Also, you must consider that only the rich and privileged could afford to hunt, so a gun like this would be a great way to show off your wealth.

I would love to own that firearm. I am definitely not a fudd, but I can appreciate quality craftsmanship.

Ok for the haters who think the gun is gaudy, how about this one?

It's a combination gun, known as a vierling (four barrel combo).

The engraving isn't anything to write home about.

Sort of reminds you of a high school art teacher doing it huh?

I'm fortunate to know many, many, very good engravers.

Also, when you grow up in a house full of GS Garcia and Capriola engraved bits and spurs, you get a pretty critical eye.

They are both gaudy, but at least the second one you posted has an inherent grace, and flowing lines.
The first one looks about as graceful as a bench vise.

Edited to add the word "second".

Which is funny, because combination guns are a European thing.

It looks like the gun conan the  barbarion would carry cause it would have to be so heavy you would need to really be biult to shoot standing with it. I think it makes a nice conversation piece if I had money to spend for such a thing but I have no use for it. I think it does look nice, just not really utilitarian.

I like the first gun for the elephant head on the lever, the engraving looks good, but uninspired.

I got to see a Heym Drilling as it was being finished in the factory for a Saudi Prince.
Had the engraved ibexes, leopards and other animals with gold inlays, etc that were ok.
The front sight was a big ass ruby and they inlaid 26 half karat diamonds down the rib.

Still, I think the cost of the gun was double whatever the price of those jewels were.
