I have a M&P compact, I carry 20 hours a day with my comptac ctac. I fucking love this holster. Small light comfortable.
I'm looking to start open carrying for the winter months and maybe into summer months. I'm looking for recommendations with personal expirence on holsters that are kydex and that can also accept a viridian c5l laser/light attached to my firearm as well.
That you for the help and input in advance.

I can tell you this, kydex holsters for the C5L are a dangerous business.

There is no where "reliable" to get retention on that light, over time it typically will wear on the light or the kydex and fail out at some point.  That and Viridian has a bad habit of leaving too much gasket material around the housing of the light which tends to get caught on the kydex and rip off.

Thank you for the information, I just liked it because of the green laser and light combo without added bulk. Maybe a compact light for it would be better. How are the stream light compact lights? Are there better alternatives to look at? I'd like to buy it once and be done with it instead of buying a light and not liking it and buying another.

For the mpC the TLR3 is really your only option for a mounted light.  It "may" be possible to modifiy a tlr1 or a x300 to fit (you'd have to fabricate a rail adapter) but the short rail on the compact makes the TLR3 the standard go to.

Crimson trace might have an option but I tend to not like the forward grip activated lights personally, they require me to have an oddball grip on the gun.

Well I opted for a holster with no light. Gives me an excuse to buy the full size so I can mount a light on it

I went with a guy that make kydex, he deals with my brother a lot, Tulster is the brand. Will post pictures when it arrives. Looks to be a very nice holster. Especially in FDE carbon fiber. Will also look nice while in OC mode

Figured I would keep you all up to date if anyone was wondering the same.

well i didnt forget about this thread i made so heres my update.

after a delay due to holidays and another dealy due the the mold for the process of making this holster, i got it today finally!
he contacted me letting me know the status multiple times and gave me the option of useing a mold for the fullsize MP, which i did not want to do since i was not in a rush for it.

this holster is sweet, stays close to my side, excellent retention, with an adjustment screw to modify tightness for your personal liking.
you can choose any color of kydex for the back, and any for the front, to make any combination you want. you can also chose the color of the eyelets as well.
this holster is very well made.
i chose the black eyelets, black kydex back, and FDE carbon fiber for the front. the carbon fiber is not on the inside of the holster, just bare FDE color, very smooth on the inside as well.

here are some pictures of my Tulster pilot holster OWB

Looks like he has nice attention to details and the mold looks precise. Don't care for ones I've seen where the body side has little or no definition. Bookmarked his website as well.

He is very precise. This holster is the cats ass. But then again. I'm comparing it to my ctac which is very close to fitment as this one.

Can you provide a link to his business and possibly some pricing?  I too am in the market for a m&p compact OWB kydex holster.
