Where are you guys picking up your 300 blackout barrels from? Especially if you're not looking to break the bank.
Thanks for the replies so far. So is it safe to assume there aren't just a lot of companies that make a 300Blackout barrel?
I got mine from CMMG. The last time I checked Brownells had them in stock and maybe AIM. It's been a week or so since I looked. 16" WASP –– very accurate.
Check Sota Arms for cheap barrels. Red X has them cheap, but they won't work for subsonic as they are 1 in 10 twist.
Next price-wise would be DSA, CMMG and Palmetto State. The demand is very high, and lots of manufacturers are making them, they just don't stay in stock very long. If you can spring a few more bucks, I would go for the Wilson Combat, Daniel Defense, Spikes or Noveske. |
I broke the bank - Noveske 14.5" that I'm having the suppressor mount pinned.
I got my 9" AAC here on the EE from Gun Gallery. They are at www.gungalleryjax.com.

Grim Reaper Tactical I just had mine arrive the other day, He has some other projects that are taking priority though, and my barrel was an 11 week wait (including one week of him saying it was shipping that day, and it not arriving at UPS until 7 days later). The barrel looks nice, and has custom fluting done to it, but my actual delivery time was more than double the original 4-5 week ETA. |

I was at a gun show today. A vendor had a few CMMG 8.5" 300blk barrels. That is a really nice looking barrel. The Wasp finish is beautiful. I have read that finish is very good. I will be buying one of those when i build my next AR.

has anyone had issues with concentrecy on any of these budget barrels?

But i well be highly pissed if the barrels was not concentric and I end up having a end strike on my can. |

CMMG is reported to have some concentricity issues which is a disasster if you're going to put a silencer can on it. [baffle strike and buh bye can, not fixable normally and you're out your $200 tax stamp and the can, I've seen just one can go down range and fortunately that was still in the possession of a manufacturer's employee] ETA and CMMG is supposed to have suck as customer service. if that wasn't so I'd just buy one and really have a smith check it out on a lathe and a dial indicator for concentricity. If it was off spec ship it back for replacement but with CMMG's lack of support I wouldn't rely on that. That's sad because I liked the idea of the melonited barrel. I'm not doing a can so I just might still go with a CMMG but I am also looking hard at the wilson barrel. |

I have ran a CMMG 16" complete upper with ok accuracy. Currently running a 16" SS Noveske with Vltor forged upper and Troy battle rail. It is night and day on accuracy. Subs and suppers run no problems on both pistol gas tubes.

Have the Wilson Combat 16" and a Core 15 9.5".
Wilson is very nice. Getting 1.5" with UMC and 1" with 110vmaxs. Core 15 9.5" was getting 2" @ 100 with vmax handloads and a reddot. Both work very well with my suppressor. The Core seems to have thicker threads. With the suppressor only turned on a couple of turns there is no wobble. |

Email from vendor: We first do two concentric turning operations on the barrel before we do any other turning on it. After the concentric turning operations are completed, the ID and O.D. are within .002 TIR (total indicator reading). We locate on the bore with a live center and do all the turning using that system for the rest of the turning operations. Our max on the ID/OD TIR is .005, that is actually only out .0025, max ID to OD. The turning and the threads are all done in one operation. The barrel is held on the bore and the work is completed all in one shot. So as far as Alpha Shooting Sports, I received my shipping notice the next morning and was pretty much as fast as companies like primary arms and bcm who have always been super quick
What I thought was pretty funny is they actually called me because I had ordered a carbine gas tube with the barrel and they wanted to make sure that I knew what I was ordering since the barrel is a pistol gas. That's a big +1 for them Also they were out of the gas tubes and I needed the carbine length for a different barrel |

Out of random curiosity, I wonder if these are bulldog barrels?

I purchased a complete 300 BLK DSA upper minus BCG for 250.00 shipped.
I ditched the handguard and front sight installed a Battlerail and and low pro gas block . Hovers right around sub MOA with SelfDefense rounds and 1.5 with subsonic.. Put hundreds of rounds through an AAC can no issues with the Barrel threads. |

I love my Daniel defense hammer forged 300 barrel...what I didn't like was the 6 month wait!
