My old LTC used one on a deployment.  If you had to design a replacement what would you do differently?

Well, having huddled over a M1945 or two in my youth, I'd rather use this one:

or the WW1 version

Those are nice, assuming you can build something for them to sit on.

...but getting back to what I'd want/need NOW:
- A flip-top lid (like the WW1 version) to place and securely transport a small laserjet printer (like a HP P1020), and an LED light bar for overhead lighting of the writing space.
- The drop-down faceplate (like the ones I posted) to write on or to use a laptop.
- Internal wire routing holes for USB cabling and a power strip.
- A drawer for storing a ream or two of 8.5" x 11" paper.
- The case would have a pair of D-rings placed on the topside exterior corners, so that it could hung directly from a wall/bulkhead/truck, in addition to being placed on top of workbenches, truck tailgates, etc.
- A padded storage compartment for common-sized laptops, and accessories.

Can you fake a mental illness so we could sell this to the military office supply procurement folks?
