Gorgeous rifle.  A SAR-48 standard was my first FAL in 1988, bought with my HS graduation money.  One of the worst decisions I ever made was letting it go a few years later.

Thanks.

You should get one for yourself.

Recently there were two on GB.

Pawn shop find.
After visiting the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek and the good folks at the DSA booth, I picked up an adjustable rear sight, front sling swivel and 6 20 round mags.
Now I need to get the barrel threaded and an L1A1 FH.

If you have an FAL, especially if you have an Springfield Armory SAR-48, you should really consider
getting one of these Springfield SA-35 High Powers. Really happy with mine so far.

I decided to lighten up my carbine. Ditched the heavy railed forearm and went traditional.

Thinking of ditching the railed cover.

The Bren Gun mag looks cool, but heavy when fully loaded...

Then you should shoot my FALO with 30 rounders offhand.

I love the 30 round mags, especially since I put in mag springs that will actually work.

DSA (LMT built receiver) built with STG-58 kit by Rich Saunders about 20 years ago.

All told, it cost me about $900 including the wood furniture. The stock is by Kevin Molder (I finished and did the inletting) and the grip by Ironwood. Fore grip is Penguin. T/H/S by DSA. USA piston and cocking knob.

Waiting on a SAW grip. Former L1A1 Imbel Sporter converted by sledgehammer from the files. I need more mags

Can't decide whether to take the FH off and put on the thread adapter for a can. Kinda like it the way it is now and it's heavy enough

Walked into my LGS to see what they had, and wasn’t really planning to buy anything.

Walked out with my new DSA, a few magazines and a can of recent manufactured LC—-and a credit card that was slightly singed around the edges Attachment Attached File

I took it straight over to the range and right out of the box it made hits on steel out to 300.  0 malfunctions .   I have a spare 1-4 PST scope for it as soon as the p rail dust cover arrives
