That is one sharp battle rifle.

I love how the crate still made it in the pic

Thanks. That Romy 8mm crate is my trademark rifle prop. I've forgotten how many of my pics it appears in, but it's a ton of them.

Liquidmetal, have you had a chance to range test? I have ordered one myself, btw.

Bill

Not yet, been working a ton of overtime. Hope to get it to the range on Friday depending on work.

Understood; please do give us an evaluation when you get a chance.

Yours looks good; can't wait 'till I get mine, but it'll be a couple of months (deal made w/ wife; timing for XMAS)

Greetings,

I just finished a modified FAL in Duracoat. The pattern is based on a late war German Army pattern from WW2. I'd like to post pics of it but alas, I can't seem to figure out how to upload pictures. I was hoping someone could help me out with that.

Regards,

This poor rifle started as a thumbhole L1A1, but lots of work later all I need is a proper handguard and some barrel threading to have it in top shape. There was a lot of rust around the gas block area freezing up both the front sight and gas adjustment.

It's a bit of a frankenrifle right now with the metric lower on the L1A1 upper but I like it just fine and it shoots well enough!

That looks like a nice setup! How heavy is that?

Updated panels and foregrip.

This modified FAL is serving as a test piece for various cammo patterns and multi-tone paint schemes. The first series is a cammo pattern used by the Germans towards the end of WW2. The second is a more contemporary pattern. Both were done in Duracoat applied with an airbrush with no stencils.

This is my DSA Stg58 with a few aftermarket accessories. I wanted to build something that fit a PSL-style DMR role. It's got a TR24G sitting in some Warne medium rings, which brings the optic low enough to allow for a very adequate cheek weld. The bipod throws off the POI if I mount it further up, so I put it as far back as I could. It groups about 3" at 100 yards, which is fine for me.

It's heavy at about 12 pounds (I estimate), but I have lighter rifles for carrying on hunting or camping trips.

Joguwa86,

I like that set up!!

What ammo were you using?

I saw a little less than 2 MOA with my all Imbel FAL using
Winchester 150 gr. Silver Tip. Was using a Nikon 4x scope
on a sand bag rest. You might consider giving that load a try.

Thanks for posting the pics,

EMSflyer

I was using American Eagle FMJ. I'm sure I could wring out better groups with good ammo, but my other .308's tend to eat up the good stuff. :P

Just traded another arfcommer for this:

I've sent the dust cover off for the LTR pic rail mount and plan to co-witness an Aimpoint Micro. Other than that, I'm leaving it alone –– besides shooting it, of course.

I tried to buy that rifle but wasn't able to sell my Kimber in time. Hope you enjoy that beautiful FAL.

Heres a FAL variant.... SLR (Aussie L1A1)

Entreprise receiver with a custom serial number...why else would you use Entreprise.
All matching numbers...the reason for the custom serial number
Assembled by Rich at CGW

Hesse L1A1 ( let the bashing begin), but I picked it up for $275 and it has never had a function failure, came with bayonet and scabbard as well.
