You got most all of the important ones!

That looks like a Belgan M1 on top? with a C1 below it?

Bottom photo, is that an R1? (I can't see if it's got a grenade sight or not)

The Rhodesian-esque SLR and Para and R1/R3 are awesome as well...

My meager collection

Bottom is my only real FN; and FN 50.41. Bought new, no box...the owner had been bouncing it betwen gunshows so long he lost the box, the bipod retaining ring, and retaining clip...got it in 2003. Took me until about 3 months ago to find both the retaining ring and clip. It's a hoot to shoot

Up from that is a Springfield SAR-48.

Up from that is an Entreprise L1A1, pre-ban. My first rifle...and problem child. Problems mostly due to the age of the parts (nothing newer than 64 on it if I remember right)...but, it's all been sorted out, and it runs great now.

Up from that is an Argie Para kit I got in 2002/2003 or so...cost an arm and a leg, but it was worth it. It's built on a DSA Type 1 receiver. The barrel was original 21"; I had it cut down to 17". In hindsight I probably should have kept it at it's full length...but either way, this is as close to the short-short FN 50.63 as I'll ever get, so I'm very happy with it as-is. The only "gripe" I have with it is that it's a type 3 lower...so it isn't a perfect match. The sling on it is an old M60 barrel bag sling. It works really well as a single-point sling on the rear sling swivel.

The top gun is an Imbel kit on a DSA type 1 receiver...one of the "carried a lot but shot twice" kit guns that came in in early 2k's. Internals were perfect. The gas piston had either been cleaned in an ultrasound tank or it just haden't been shot much. I'm still waiting on some parts from DSA to totally finish it; it's compliant as-is but I still want a new thumb safety and charging handle as the orignal thumb safety doesn't mesh well with the FSA innards and the charging handle is just...beat. I painted it as-is because...well, the Rhodies had their own camo which worked well there...this aughta work well here in the farmland midwest. That and the exterior was well-worn and I didn't want to spring for refinishing

I'm interested in what this type set up would weigh in at? I have been eying the DSA SA58 Para's for some time and this would be the set up I would like to go with. Great rifle!

Whered you get the Wood buttstock for the second rifle in the first picture? PM me.

Evil_Ed,

Nice collection!

I can only manage to own one FAL at a time.

Sure would like to get a Para one day.

Almost converted my current all Imbel to a para but it's
perfect the way it is. Canceled my para kit order with DSA and I built another AR instead.

Kinda wish I stayed with the para project.

I do love my new middy AR however.

I guess it's all good.

Thanks for posting,

Very nice. It seems like Fal's can pull off any camo  you throw at them and still look good.

I just got my barreled upper back from Steve at ADCO.

This is an IMBEL kit built on an IMBEL gear logo receiver that I did back before the AWB expired. My 'smith cut it to 18" and crowned it at that time - I wanted something shorter than stock, but couldn't find a compliant muzzle device I liked. It has a DSA L1A1-type selector, Penguin buttstock and PG, one of those awful TAPCO handguards and a VOW Para-style rear sight.

ADCO just threaded the barrel and made a custom shouldered threaded adapter this week so I could mount a 5/8"x24RH thread Phantom. They do damn nice work and fast too!

All that's left is to redo/rethink the furniture. The Penguin stuff is the economy version they were selling a number of years ago but is basically solid, so I may just pick up a new US made handguard from DSA and paint the furniture with whatever. I'm thinking either OD or FDE, although something like LaRue's UDE has a lot of appeal, too.

It's worth getting the para bits, if for nothing else just to be able to carry it in a smaller space. As is, a normal FAL with the full length barrel will barely, barely fit in the back of my jeep and will definitily NOT fit in the security trunk/drawer I have bolted in back. With the folder, it fits. With the folder plus barrel chop job I had done, it fits with room to spare.

If you have an all pre-89 Imbel, it might not be worth it to get the receiver nose-cut for a para...but pretty much any kit gun? Get the receiver para cut, so at least you always have the option of going to a para setup. At least then you can switch back and forth as your urges arise

I didn't seal any of them.  I just mark all my important fasteners so I can quickly see if any ever decide to start backing out.

Mainly just for my piece of mind, partly because Im kinda OCD.

It's a cut in the upper reciever.  A correct para upper has a nose on the top cover.  The nose goes in the cut so the top cover does not fly off when you brake open the rifle.  The cut itself is a round cut at the gas piston hole.  It is maybe 7/16" in diamater and 1/8" deep.  Those are just rough geusses.

My very first FAL
I think it is a Austrian FAL parts kit built and it is NOT Century built.
All matching serial numbered Austrian Parts with original barrel.
With Imbel receiver, and Austrian original paint, original finish

Conculsion...I <3 FALs

Very nice STG58, but you need to do it a favor and buy a type 1 receiver for it to make it look original, then use that nice Imbel type 3 to build another FAL... because one cannot just have one FAL, <3FALs not withstanding!

What does HTS mean???

And, yea, my Austrian Kit look unfired as well.
Still grease in bore, feed ramp has 100% parkerized finish, the bolt only have some wear.

I don't really know the difference of those 3 types of receiver available when I bought it.
Still  new to FALs.

Well, does IMBEL make TYPE1?
I thought the IMBEL is the best to have?
Is Imbel a cast or a forged receiver?
And, as of now, this FAL is not 922r...Everything except the IMBEL receiver are all Austrian parts. They all have Austrian Military stamp marks and all matching if there is serial number.
I guess I will change it to 922 soon.

BTW, I DID NOT built this FAL, I got it from someone that only built FALs

Just as a follow up to the last pic, here are the available (or at least available in the '70s) sights for the FNC1A1.

Just the regular iron flip up sight as adopted by Canada.

The origninal IR optic AN/PAS 4. Mid 1960s until early 1970s when "starlight" came to town.

And the first image intensifier AN/PVS 502. Very similar performance as the PVS 4.

This is the QD Leitz scope. I've never talked with anyone in the Canadian Forces who actually used one. Canadian Forces had the C3 (Parker Hale 1200) as a sniper rifle available.

And just as a reminder Canada was the FIRST nation to adopt the FN rifle as the national service battle rifle.
