Actually, it was a little cheaper, the parts are easy to get online or from any fabric store.
I love that rifle. That is exactly what I want. Too bad I can't find an Imbel carbine.

I've already posted these pics elsewhere, but they should be here too I guess.
Lightweight build. DSA alloy: Lower, trigger guard, top cover, DSA stock and PG, H'guards '04 Imbel receiver, FSE M4 "lightweight" H/T/S. Barrel was cut and turned by Moses to 14" and a Styer FH permanantly attached. Barrel was also turned down to a M14 profile. Gas tube was also cut, and I added a Schnider sling thingy.
Still needs a park job, but otherwise she's done.

well, I took off the sling thing, and replaced the DSA HG's with el cheapo century ones and put it on my bathroom scale, it showed just under 7#. I need to find a good fish scale or other accurate scale to be sure though. I think it will really be just over 7lbs when I weigh it again, but it is the lightest gun I own, its even lighter than my father in laws M1 carbine.

WOW 7#
just how thin did Johnny turn that tube?

Some kind of oversized selector DSA added to it. I love it. Very easy to flick from safe to fire and back again using just your thumb and not change your grip to do it.

DSA post-ban SA58 Standard type 1 with handle, and friends.

Before:

I will post the after pic when she's done.

My most recent build; Isreali Light Barrel on Imbel Receiver

DavidC - Looks great! Can you post a closeup pic of your receiver and selector? Thanks. I'm trying to redo this one. The wood is junk, but I have a brand new set of Isreali furniture all set to go.

Finally bought an FAL. I was going to build one, but with the cost of the kits/receivers on the rise this one was a good deal. It's a Bowman build. I couldn't resist the FN shotgun either.

Painter, very nice FALs.
My current "shooter"............
