Savage 10FP 223
Bushnell elite 3200 10x mil dot scope
60 grain V max with 26.5 grains of varget
100 yards 3 shot group sory for the huge picture scan but the squares are 1 inch and the small sub square is 1/4 inch.
so it is shooting sub 1/4 groups.

Mt Hunter
Damn you guys are good.
Took my new rifle out today for the FIRST time to zero it. This is the 3rd group I fired total.
Savage 10FCP HS Precision
Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50(cant say enough

)
Factory, Black Hill match 168 (all I had)
Pulled the first shot.
Again, this was rounds 9, 10 and 11 from a new rifle. I expect to improve.

As usual, pls forgive photography.
From today.
700VSF (lefty) .308, 168SMK and 42gr RL15, at 100yds. 10 shots.

Those look pretty dirty for the first group, I need to do a better job of cleaning my barrel!

I put 6 shots in the group and called two fliers before the RO called cease fire. Came back after the cease fire and had the third flier (not called) and then put the final shot back into the group. That's about .35-.40 excluding the fliers.

That high shot was an oops.

Got the action bedded on my Savage 10FP last week with the new McMillan stock. Took it out today to see if it made a difference.

BEFORE bedding the action. Fairly typical. Would
almost get nice groups, but would constantly get flyers. Very frustrating.

AFTER bedding the action. Well now! Much improved. I have myself a shooter now!
Best 3-round group, Federal Gold 168 gr: .281". It shoots better than I can. Now it's up to me to keep up.
Clockwise, from upper left:
.281"
.375"
.563"
I got so excited after that first group, I was too pumped to shoot that well again!

I thought I'd post this its nothing real special but it's the first time I've shot to 400yrds so

all the fill stickers where from lack of fresh target. we had shot this one up pretty good with the AR before deciding to move and shoot at this distance. as you can tell there was a slight wind from about 2 o'clock
This is a 4 shot group and the fourth is behing my hand must have been a flyer from wind . I'm pretty happy though for a "cheap" old Rem788 .223
Handloads are Remingtom once fired brass, IMR 4198 21.5grs, Hornady 55gr v-max moly and CCI primers trimed to .221 I think off the top of my head.
I'm new to reloading and long range shooting; that you take pics of to share with your buddies on the internet

but I think I'm doin ok
this weekend I free floated the barrel and skim bedded the action so I will go out next weekend and see if there's any inprovement.
BTW. can anyone give me some insight on how much a good crown job would improve groups? thanks
Petee
P.s.
I've added some spelling errors for you picky people to have something to do after I log out.
god bless the 788
my lucky day whit my remington 700 sps dm

sierra matchking 155gr VV N135 2.55gr. second group was 2mm larger

Remington 700 Sendero in 300 Win Mag
Chamber recut and barrel faced by the Remington Custom Shop (warranty work)
Remington Custom Shop muzzle brake
lightened factory trigger
cheapie 4-12 x 40 Bushnell scope (quit laughing, I've replaced it)
190 gr Sierra Match Kings on 74 gr IMR 4831
average velocity of 3090 fps
Best 100 yd 3 round group shot while working up this load. I couldn't bring myself to yank a flier on 4 or 5 and mess up the grouping.

Typical 100 yd 5 shot groups:

3 shots 100 yards
3 shot and a 5 shot group both at 100 yards

5 shot group shot by former marine shooting team member he pulled one but still a damn good group
Remington 722
.308 win
168 gr. A-max
40.7 gr. RL-15
Norma case
C.O.L. 2.800"

Surplus was Aussie (I think--I just grabbed a box out of the can, and can't really I.D. it for sure--it has a NATO cross on the case head).
I'm likely going to replace the 2.5-10 NXS with a 3.5-15--I like the extra magnification and I've used a NXS 3.5-15 on my PSS for years--from prairie dog shooting, to deer/elk hunting, to punching paper, it really fills the bill.
Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .223 1x12 twist with 52gr HP Black Hills Match Ammo with out of the box mounts, rings, and cheapo 4-12x40 scope. 100 yards 5 shot group. I packed up everything and left after shooting this group because I knew I couldn't beat it. Still haven't beaten it but it gives me something to strive for.

This is my best so far. 5 rds of Fed 150 gr BT @ 100 yds. Its .362 center to center. I was shooting like shit the whole day for some reason and this was one of the last groups I shot.

Here's my group at 1k using a R700/HS stock/NFNXS

700yds w/308

1k PD head shot. Actually hit on 1st shot.

3 shots @ 1k. Best 3shots @ 1k to date. W/308.

1k again w/308

Cabelas special?
Was out yesterday testing the cold bore shot with my GAP .243 and after my cold bore shot I shot this three shot group at 200 yards. I usually don't keep groups but seeing as this was on the target below my cold bore target it got kept.

I guess this goes here.
Fired at 200 yards
6.5 Grendel bolt action Rem 700
used (700 rds, formerly a 6.5-284) Krieger barrel that I installed (first barreling job)
Only load I've tried in the gun.
