Based off of the NRMA bench plans.  Brought in a couple of electrical/USB outlets for accessories and LED under cabinet lights.  Stain is "Avocado" with table top left natural.  Happy to finally get a real table!

Thats kind of what mine looked like before the new one.  Give or take about ten more mountain dew bottles.

Here is how I removed it.

Just started on my new bench. 7' long by 28" deep and 32" tall. I have 2 new husky cabinets to go above.

My stainless top will be ready Tuesday.

Input is needed-  do I hang my powder measure off the front or place it further back?  Pros/cons to each?  I do have an electronic measure, as well.

Hadn't thought of that, thx.  Do you have any examples?  How big would the base need to be.... 12"x12"?  I do have some 3/4" mdf, that I could cut down.

Lost for words?  I have a few.......this looks UN-American!!.....call the ATF!  Looks like you have a fun life!  Well except for all that snow.  But I'm not jealous........well maybe for the open space.  Just don't drive that trailer to D.C., okay?!  Very nice Oldman. I don't know how old you really are, but if you can shoot .50 cal. every day....not as old as me.

I guess I am jealous of the Motorcycle (proof you are well rounded),or at least your ability to still ride hard.....I used to race a yellow one like that every weekend......time catches up.....sold my last big bore machine for a gun a year after my best riding buddy died.  sigh, that's been years..

Old age of 61+, BUT YOUNG AT HEART.
Disability slowed me down, 46 years after a tractor accident crushed my lower legs but still have them after 15+ surgeries on them.
I rode offroad when I was younger, mainly Enduros or Hare Scrambles. Now I ride to check targets at 1000 yards or a mile. I have a handicap sticker and a holder for my cane on my 2009 KTM 530EXC which is street legal. (Barely!!!)

I really enjoy 50BMG Target Shooting and DREAM of YOUNGER days when I was able to race dirtbikes.

I accept presses others don't need or want, refurbish them if practical, and re-sell at a "slight" profit.

I also TEACH reloading to newbees for FREE.

Components cost, and I accept donations to the Heating Fund, which was expensive this year due to 47 days below ZERO, and temps around -27 degrees most of those nights.

I specifically enjoy reloading the 50BMG round.

And about 40 other different cartridges.

Hadn't thought of that, thx.  Do you have any examples?  How big would the base need to be.... 12"x12"?  I do have some 3/4" mdf, that I could cut down.
That's a good size. Plenty of room for a load block full of cases to slide around under the drop tube.

Thx

my reloading setup..in my bedroom

A little note about my Reloading past.
You all have seen my pictures posted above and I will add more.

I started reloading in my dorm room at SDSU in Brookings, SD in 1972. I had a press mount that fit on edge of my desk, first cartridge was 7.62X54R.
In 1976, I bought a mobile home, 14 X 70, in one of the three bedrooms I setup a reloading table and started loading 270, 7mmRM, 222Rem, and 44Mag. That worked well for 4 years. Jefferson, Huxley, & Cedar Falls, Iowa. (MOBILE home.)
Then bought a house with basement, moved and expanded my reloading to tables 12 feet long, which competed with my dirtbike repair area. I lost that house 2 years later when laid-off with 19,000 other on same day.
Moved to Kentucky, lived in really small mobile home. Assembled one of those 8'X8' tin sheds and reloaded in there.
Moved to Chicago area. Reloading stayed in boxes.
Moved to Iowa, reloading stayed in boxes.
Moved to Minneapolis. Reloading stayed in boxes.
Moved to Drummond, WI. Reloaded some in basement.
Moved back to Minneapolis after divorce. Setup reloading in living room and kitchen.
Re-married 7 years later, lived in wife's townhouse, kept my house for storage, it was paid off, reloaded there and repaired dirtbikes in house, mine in kitchen, daughters in bathroom, son's in living room.
Bought and converted a 5' X 10' enclosed trailer with raised ceiling to a reloading trailer while living at townhouse. My daughter called it the "50CAL Trailer" = the name stuck, as that was how it was used, and I was a FCSA Match Director at Alliance, Nebraska. Trailer held all match supplies, computer, printer, flatscreen tv (also connected to computer, 3 reloading presses, electronic powder measures, KTM, shooting Bench and chair, other tables for signup registration, basically every thing required to run a match or reload at the range. I had a 2000watt generator mounted on the hitch hardwired into trailer at multiple points. And I reloaded in Winter in there using electric heater.
After retiring on disability, we moved to our present location. Wife's things in house, my STUFF in 34' X 48' heated garage. I had to totally re-wire garage since somebody took an ax to all wiring and other stuff. House had paint on carpet, tile, walls, cabinets, doors kicked-in whether locked or not, garage doors gone with openers, heating systems gone also. A foreclosure house.
I moved all my stuff in from wife's house, my house, a storage shed, everything, then kids went to college and grad school, so I got their STUFF too, including 2 dirtbikes, gear, and all their trophies. Initially I worked with others repairing the house, limited to what I could do from a wheelchair or sitting on floor. I could walk but very limited distances (4 later surgeries improved my legs). Many friends helped with the move and initial repairs..Two special friends helped move the gun safes into location.
My shop is my playground now - my reloading area - my machining area - my woodworking area - my sanity area.
I will take more pictures of special projects related to reloading, and add here.
Anyone in the area is welcome to stop in and talk reloading.
Thank you for putting up with me. Some days my meds cause irrational statements, those days I stay in bed and LURK the Forums.

Timmy.....it only starts in the bedroom!   Darn good start though.  Addiction follows.

Oldman....that last post wasn't on Reloading Benches, but I'm glad you posted.  Moderators, we ought to have a thread for getting to know each other better.......we are reloading hobby brothers after all!
What turned me into an old man besides 40+ years, was carrying a sheet of plywood on a vaulted ceilinged roof when a freak gust of wind turned it into an airplane.....a month later I got out of the hospital....I was 23. I won't bother to list all the stuff I broke, but I rebounded in a year, then motocrossed, coached baseball, and served my sons and many others as a scoutmaster for the next 25 years...after work.  Reloaded for weekend rec. shooting for much of that time too. Work has always been residential and commercial construction, design/build.  Same house, same town, same business, same wife, 5 kids, and 18 grandkids.  Other special experiences:  Heart Attack, Stents, dbl heart bypass surgery.

My bench got converted from a motorcycle engine repair bench that got a press bolted on at times:

To This.

I need to print 8x10's of these pictures and post them by the bench.....to inspire me to keep it clean.

Does anyone know where I can find the threaded inserts you put into the countertop that let you just screw in press from the top?

They are called t-nuts and you should be able to find them at Home Depot or Lowes.

Dryflash, you remove each press and mount whichever one you are going to use, all in the same location? You don't have all your presses mounted to the bench at once? If so, where/how do you store your presses when not being used?

for those with multiple presses and limited space or want an easy way of switching out presses look at the inline fab quick change system

best money i have spent as it allowed me to bring my presses indoors

I uploaded these pics in a different thread but might as well put them up in here...

I bought the bench and slide out from SAMs and I think it is the perfect size bench for my needs.  It was easy to put together and the Lyman T-mag press bolted down perfectly on the bench.  There is no play and handles the decapping/re-sizing operation easily.  Very happy with my simple yet effective reloading set up.  I'm brand new to the re-loading game...maybe a I'll splurge on a progressive press in the future.  May need to buy another SAMs bench

I put the Glock and the DD M4A1 on the bench just for show and tell

Thought I throw an updated image in for the super mini I posted a few pages ago (59). I finally got some free time to start on her again. The main body is done but I need to start on the attachments.

Dryflash, to answer your question on the top. I went with a section of 3/4 birch plywood I had from another project for the main part and put an edging on it. For the front part around the trough, I used 3/4 oak, again, from some left overs. It will still be a while before I'm done. As a P.S., I'm opting out of a raised letter, latin expression for her. Instead, I'll use a single word, Somnio.

That's a great looking bench.  I've tried to build "desk-height" in the past, but I could never get the combination of surface height and press lever throw to work for me.  It looks like you've gotten it nailed.

It also looks like you're blocking your electrical panel with those bullet bins...  (Sorry, but I'm always Mr. Safety Man.  I can't help it.)

These bench tops are from the John Boos Company.  I'm heading there to pick up two more for a friend tomorrow.  This one is a baker's top with the sides to keep materials from going off the edge.  Like primers, cases, etc.

I built my computer desk from materials from Boos as well.

Thanks but it's just some 2X4's & 2X6's along with some left over wood and hardware. I did get around to the letters today. I intend to do another write-up on it for small space, low volume and newer reloaders using it. As the name implies, I hope it will provide some ideas.

JETA: Forgot to mention, I'm also using just the very basics in power tools. So far just a drill and screwdriver attachment, a saber saw, skill saw and sander. Items that most have or are able to borrow.

I was looking at those the other day. I was thinking about getting the rolling workbench and adding some position locks to the bottom of them.
How heavy is the table itself? I may get the table and slide out like you have and add on the storage cabinet instead to put the larger items in instead of the workbench.

---- Mods, I know you'll probably say this should be a PM issue, but it may also help others that looked at them at one point and thought they might not be enough, as was my first thought.

It's heavy, however, I wouldn't get the rollout version only because I think it would move around too much during decapping/resizing.  I mean you probably would be ok...it would just be annoying for the bench to move around and have your tools rolling off the bench while you were cranking a way.  Although I'm sure it has a tight lock up on the wheels...it's just not a risk I was willing to take.  I wanted something rock solid and this bench (with no wheels other than the 6 drawer storage cabinet) definitely met all my needs.

I thought long and hard about which one to get and I'm happy with the bench combo I chose.

Work in progress. I added these 4 hole turret holders today. I found a 2.93" hole saw that was close to the 2.84" OD of the turrets. Worked perfect. They drop in and the top of the turret sits above.

(Don't worry, that heater is shut off and unplugged from the rest of the glycol system.)
