I've seen pics of peoples benches scattered throughout the reloading forum, but I thought it would be nice to have a single thread where you could post pics of your little patch of reloading heaven.
ETA: My camera isn't working at the moment, but here's some pics I found online: Here's a simple one you can make yourself: Click here for plans for the bench below Click here for a PDF with several different free plans Here's another clean/simple layout: |

I saw a picture of your press setup. Are those the Lee Classic Turret and Single Stage? Can you please answer some of my question in this forum - http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=42&t=261829 - that deal with the Lee presses? I'd greatly appreciate insight from a Lee user.

JMT,
Are those the Kobalt benches that Lowe's sells? How do you like them? Are they sturdy enough? (I really have to crank on mine when I'm trying to remove crimped military primers.) |

They are very similar but I think another name brand. They get the job done, but I intend to add a heavier top. I got those for next to nothing is the only reason I use them. If starting from scratch, I recommend heavier. |

Wow, I feel kinda bad now. I don't think I've seen the top of my bench in well over five years. Maybe its time to redesign.

We use Folgers cans. Your clear containers are definitely cooler. |

sweet thread. I am going to start reloading in Jan due to my .458s purchase. I came here to start a thread asking about what material would be best for the top of a bench.
So.....what material do you suggest for the top of the reloading bench? I have a bench and plan to purchase some wood this weekend and redo the top. Please give me your suggestions. Gracias! |

One of the easiest is a plain, flat, solid-core door. You could also use the pine Project panels they sell at Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, etc. If you have access to a table saw, you could use thick Plywood. I would stay away from MDF, because it swells and absorbs any moisture (gun cleaner, beer, etc.) and any overhung corners could easily break off. |

Some of the Industrial supply places like MSC and McMaster Carr have bench tops. They are nice but expensive. I'd opt for a top made out of big planks like 2x10's or 2x12's. |
