I've been trying to find a 556RC since I saw the cans at SHOT.  I'm on three waiting lists, but happened to find one out of Texas at SKArms.  I'm now the proud owner of SN A30N01181 and a SFMB-556 brake.    So, about 2-3 weeks for the Form 3, then tranfer to my Class III, the 6 months or so for the Form 4...

FWIW, he has four more of the 556RCs, 556 brakes and two 762RCs (but no 762 brakes yet) and I believe he may also have some Mini's in stock also.  No affiliation on my part with SK, just happy I finally found one so I thought I'd pass it along.

Kane also pays your Tax for the Stamp, so you get $200 off your suppressor order at the time of sale.

ETA - Damn, page ownage fail.

I heard that ATF received approval to hire 9 more people in the examiners office, so I do hope that will help.  There also seems to be a disparity depending on the region you're in.  Kane from SK Arms was telling me Louisiana is running almost 10 months...

We are running right at about 6 months.
He is probably counting state approval for transfer times on TOP of federal transfer. LA is like California when it comes to firearms, almost. Horrible state. Leaving next year. Don't come here. I can't say anything good about the area so I will be quiet, now.

Anyone have a lead on the new FH/MBs for the 7.62 sups?  Still can't find one.

One of my local shops had some of the flash hiders on the shelf.  It seems Surefire has gone at least half retard with with getting product out lately though.  From what I was told they have gone from only dealing with certain stores to selling to anyone who wants their product.  Apparently that is actually making it harder to get anything from them.

I picked my full sized up for $1080 and my mini for $1040. I guess I lucked out because I have seen some real highway robbery for these things. I am eager to see how much the back pressure reduection affects various guns in full auto (compared to my other cans)

WOW, Look at the difference in the flash.

Yes, the First Round Flash for the SOCOM was horrible, the size of a foot-ball about half a foot from the muzzle. The M4-2000 was more prevalent, but smaller. To me, the Surefire wins on mounting system. That big 'ol football o' flash for the first round negates their claims in my book from actually mattering. "It only does it half the time on the first round..." isn't very cool.

It appeared that after the first shot the SOCOM went dark but the AAC continued to flash for several rounds.

Yep, definite improvement, but Surefire's claim is about first-round flash. Not "it goes dark for subsequent shots".

Like I said all along, this can is EVOLUTIONARY, not REVOLUTIONARY. It's better, sure, but don't go thinking it's worlds better.

MB or FH on 14.5"?

MB on my 16" Recce, FH on my 12.5" SBR. Hmm

Hey y'all, I'm the guy who actually took that video.

We were using XM-193, since that's the the most "flashy" factory round, and unfortunately, the stuff is not very consistent either.  I chose that take, as Gracie's kinda shy around cameras so it took us a few takes to get it right.  In general though, the SOCOM did outperform on visual signature than the AAC.

My AAC M4-2000 has seen about 15,000 rounds though it as well, about half on a 11.5" barrel... so it's pretty worn too.

Overall, that video was unscientific as fuck, and I apologize for that.  Please don't draw any serious conclusions from it!

As an apology, please accept this image of this attractive woman with a Surefire SOCOM equipped rifle.  Also taken by me.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/24650948/Photoshoots/DMG/_DSC0220%28800%29.jpg

When you are refering to the SOCOM suppressor outperforming the AAC on visual signature, was the first round flash on the SOCOM can a one time deal or did it consistently do it?

If it did it regularly, I would put the edge on the AAC

Regards!
