Distributor orders should be finished up in a little more than a week and dealers can start ordering right around the 13th of this month or even place orders with the distributors right now. Adapters are coming in and getting laser engraved and packaged up so things are moving along pretty fast.

Will there be back over the barrel versions of these new cans with a new mounts?
|
|
Garin can you advise on when the website will be updated with photos and specs on the RC's and the new adapters?
|
|
When can we expect the mounts to be available? Need to pick one up for a build I'm doing...

They are working on the site right now. Adding new video's and all that good stuff. We are accecpting orders from dealers and distributors. The adapters are flowing in on the 1/2-28 models and they are going after the 5/8-24 next then the other threads here shortly.

Yessss..........thanks for the update Garin, lot of projects in holding patterns waiting for these brakes.

I am concerned about what is being written about availability here by Kudu22 (Grain of SureFire) since Dave at SilencerShop.com (hill country class 3) told me two day go that these SOCOM556 models are not available for dealer orders yet. So what I am reading here and what I am hearing doesn't match up. Perhaps that is understandable with new product releases making it into the distribution channels and delays with order system updates.
I really did enjoy reading all the posts on all the gun forums that Kudu22 has made about these new models and his info and updates made me decide on the new model versus the current one. The blog post at CheaperThanDirt was a great write up and very good video and explanation of changes to the new tab mount instead of the bottom pin. That close up picture of the new FA556 adapter with the tab clearly showing speaks volumes and shows the new design nicely. Why did it take so long? I decided to give up on the FA556-212-DE I have been waiting for and apply my deposit to the SOCOM556-RC-DE instead. Will also need a MB556K-SB for the new mount on an LMT 12.5 inch Piston. Might also have to replace 2 other SureFire MB556K muzzle breaks and sell off the ones I have now. I am realistically expecting a 1 year wait for this new model from what I read and heard about previous SureFire new product availability and dealer order fulfillment. (Anecdotally the SureFire muzzle break design and performance and the ASAP quick change system is why I chose them over AAC for my rifle suppressor but in the mean time I will order the AAC TI-RANT 45 since that is a superior product on the market right now.) |

Dave from Silencer Shop must not be a Surefire Dealer. He is probably ordering through a distributor like M3. This would explain why HE cannot order yet. |

Ok I think I can get all the answers in. Yes we are going to continue to make the current suppressors and popular adapters. We still have certain contracts on them. New MB's are being built right now in 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 up next. Pinning and welding is easy on the adapters. We put pilot holes at the back collar that you can drill and pin. Flash hiders are a new patent pending 3 prong that doesn't have that pronounced ringing and barely...barley hear it when suppressor is on. Thanks Garin for the Updates, and Clarification. I for one appreciate all you do for us, (civies) and boys overseas doing the work. I have a couple of Kel's can's, I luv his lil (OutbackII). and I'm looking for your new SOCOM,-556. The pronounced "ringing" is pretty noticable, with ear muffs and plugs. I would like to see the new FH and MB for the new SOCOM's Just a FYI for you. I jumped on the SDN6 bandwagon when they popped up. Well got my stamp and MB's, But havent found anything I'd like to put it on yet. It was purchased for my LaRue, But i'll pick up my SF762K can next week and give it a run. I couldnt see putting in on than taking it off for the SF K can. so i just waited. I didn't want to mess with the wobble issues and POI I was reading about. Live and Learn. get what you pay for. So yes we do read alot and some of it is just try it and see. Maybe I'll put it on a SBR Noveske 300blk.? we'll see. Arent there enough Lights to free up a CNC machine now for a Ryder Release? thanks again. |

Any estimation of dB difference between the SOCOM-Mini and the SOCOM RC?
Have a 12.5" with the Noveske Switchblock I'm dying to suppress. Looking at adding a Mk12 SPR-ish rifle in the future I'd like to suppress as well. My Recce would get some suppressed time in as well. |

Just placed my order for the RC today! Now the waiting game begins. I believe it will be well worth the wait.
And 6 |

Where are you guys ordering these from? I don't mind doing an out of state transfer. My in state SureFire dealers are less than desirable to deal with.

I, just like everyone else am researching Surefire dealers, inquiring a timeline for the new line to be released.
I am not affiliated, just trying to bring info to the table. I did see on rwsgunsmithing.com that he has started a SOCOM 556-RC group buy with a timeline of October'ish. Suppressor comes w/ a free muzzle attachment of your choice. Anyone else see this or know of something sooner elsewhere? http://www.rwsgunsmithing.com/catalog/surefire-suppressor-group-buy/ |

Will there be a SCOCM556-Mini in a SB version? I like the idea of reduced chances of baffle strikes with the SB version and the reduced weight and better balance for a 16" barrel that the Mini offers. |

Any reason not to use the new muzzle break on a mk18? I'm worried it be offensive unsurpressed. Can't decide between flash hider it break. My nt4 fh does almost nothing to contain the blast. My opinion by the way.

My opinion by the way. On SBRs the muzzle blast is quite concussive. Even outdoors its quite bad, indoors your friends will hate you. The flash is also pretty crazy too. They do make for a sacrificial baffle to prolong the life of the can. There is no free lunch with an SBR. On non SBRs brakes are generally acceptable in terms of concussion. |

Yeah. Figured. Changed my order to the socom flash hider. Keep my fillings in place
