Great videos. I might have to copy those if you don't mind. BTW if you guys have questions feel free to e-mail me. I get busy and can't check the boards as much as I want but emails stay there until I answer.

Borrowed this pic from the spec ops pic thread: is this the 4-prong Surefire FH ? Sure looks most exactly like my 3-prong for my 556-RC can. http://thelaymansperch.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/sfafg5.jpg View Quote Yes. |

Me want. View Quote FWIW, the 4-prong design is functionally inferior to the 3-prong design and is not commercially available. It was recently discussed here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_118/639536_Surefire_4_prong_flash_hider_.html |

The 3 prong looks almost exactly the same, and works better.
I have one on my Block II. Love it. Most people like the MBs anyway. Helps protect the blast area. |

Finally got the SOCOM556-RC out. Great shooting can, I really am impressed with it.
But it got stuck. I cannot figure out how the fuck to get it unmounted, its unlocked and will not slide off the SOCOM brake. HALP! |
|
Curious how many rounds did you put through it while the can was on? I thought the newer design was suppose to limit this.

Next time before you put it on, put oil or CLP on all the touching areas. |

Probably 7 or 8 mags. Think I could get some CLP in there with it on?
|
|
Did you try to remove it while it is hot or cold? Mine will come off easy when its hot but sticks if you let it cool down. I started putting a little lube on mine (Mobil 1).
|
|
Or, don't over tighten the locking ring, it's easily done. I do not close my fist and wrench down on it, just 2 finger tight.
|
|
It was super hot when I first tried taking it off. Let it cool off, plus 45 minute drive time home from the land, and it was cool and still wouldn't come off.
Not counting it against the suppressor, I was extremely impressed with it, just an inconvenience. |

If you continue to have problems let us know. The tolerances are so tight that if you get a adapter on the high side of the tolerance and a back section on the low side there is a chance that just the smallest amount of carbon will make that bad boy lock on tight. We can get out a new adapter or have the suppressor come in and open up the back section just a hair.

My 556K was easy to install and a bear to take off for a very long time. Then suddenly one day it became nearly as easy to take off as it was to put on. It still locks up like a bank vault when on.

Was there ever official word about the Silencer shop test of the 762-rc and how it preformed so badly they thought it was damaged (supposedly metered 10db higher then any other can)?
I have 2 FDE 762-rc being released from jail around August, and everyone's comments here seem to be all positive. Obviously all fan bases tend to prefer the can they spent there hard earned money on but it would be awesome to get some actual data to shut up all the haters. |

View Quote Don't bother trying to shut haters up, it's pointless. The 762-RC is easily as quiet as any QD can I've heard. Easily. I'd actually give it a slight edge in sound on bolt guns to the SDN6, and a huge advantage in the mount. Don't worry about it. |

Got to visit my SOCOM762-rc yesterday. Host rifle SR25 ECC. Like some others have mentioned, the first couple attachments were really tight to get on, but got better over time. Once on it did not move at all! It felt just as solid as any direct thread can. July can not come soon enough! |

Anyone have any ideas how these cans are holding up or life expectacy on 10.5"/10.3" barrels with the 3 prongs? I know it's been talked about before somewhere on this site I just can't seem to find it. Thanks
