I am disapointed not because of the performance of my AR 24, but by the lack in customer service. When I had trouble with my AR24 I called the numbers in my owners manual. All I got was a recording telling me to email tech support and go to this forum. Well, tech support has been a big zero and while the members of this forum have been helpful, Armalite has so far failed to respond to my questions. Over the years I have had the opportunity to call, and make use of, the customer service of several companies. Springfield CS was outstanding, as was CZ, SIG and Glock. Heck, even H&K, famous for indifference to CS, reponded better and sooner. This is the 2nd Armalite product I have bought, 3rd, if you count a Costa Mesa AR 180. Unless something changes soon then I am done with Armalite. There are to many competitiors willing to support their customers to put up with those who do not.
Up until a few months ago, they were very easy to get a hold of, but since the election it seems that they are swamped with orders and don't have time to answer the phone.
It will get better, they are a relatively small company, they will catch back up eventually.

We apologize for the issue you've had, but have posted clearly what's going on at the office. In addition to being out at SHOT, our lines have been overloaded with orders, status requests, etc.
Did you IM us?
In any case, SHOT is over and we're going to TRY to open up our lines. It's very likely that we'll need to continue to work by mail, email, etc.
IM?! No, I did not IM anyone at Armalite. I will be calling on Monday, I hope there is someone to answer the phones.
OK, so I called Armalite. They had no over the phone solutions. They are going to send me a UPS tag to send it in. I hope they can fix the problem as I believe the gun has many good points as a competition and self defense weapon.
Just curious......any updates?
My experience with Armalite customer service has been great. They have sent replacement parts, UPS stamps to return products for service and provided fast tun around. I can't say enough good things about them. Granted, my experience goes back 12-18 months, but they have left a positive impression on me. I continue to buy and recommend to others, their products. Go Armalite!

I fretted with my AR-24 for almost two years. Sent it back to Armalite 2x resulting in some improvement in reliability but not to the level I expect for a PD pistol. Tried some EA Witness springs and that helped but the malfunctions still continue although not as often as the initial problems. I tried all available brands of new 9mm ammo known to mankind and could not find any that this pistol really liked. So I've said farewell to this nice looking but finicky AR-24. I'm sticking with my Springfield pistols that are far more reliable and enjoyable. Best wishes to all you Armalite pistol owners.

Hey Eagle,
Long time no see.. Sorry to hear you had to give up on yours. Did you by any chance try any of the 3 mods (hammer, fire pin retain plate, etc) I had listed in another thread? Not that a person should ever have to do this, but it made my AR24 stellar in performance, reliablity wise, as the accuracy was already there.. Had I not done those things, or had them done by a certified pistol smith, mine would be down the road as well. It just worked out better for me.
I wish I'd of known you were getting rid of it, we could have traded for something 1911.
Keep your eyes peeled for another (more functional of course) AR24 if you get the chance, as I'm sure you'd enjoy it if it functioned reilably for you.
three emails and a snail mail to armalite and never a peep.
they are the microsoft of the firearm industry
You made this same statement in the ArmaLite Industry forum on 10/12/11 where I replied back on 10/12/11 @ 4:14:01 PM the following.

All emails are answered in a timely manner. It may be possible that they were never received here.
As for snail mail I assume you mean USPS. Did you address them to anyone in particular? What was it that you wanted to know? If you'd like, you can email me direct at rookert@armalite.com."
I never received a reply by you after my post.
Do you have an agenda or (as I asked last month) did you want to contact me directly?

I'm quite pleased with armalite CS. I lost a piece to my AR24-15 when I re-assembled it incorrectly and the piece subsequently fell off at the range. They sent a replacement part at no expense to me.
I'd like to purchase another AR24, only in 10mm (hint, hint).
