All that said, I thought it was a beautifully made pistol. Ergonomically it was perfect for me.

Tell us more about the .45acp version! Now that interests me!

I have a couple XD45's and love them. You'll never make me part with my SA 1911 SS mil spec. I have a EAA Witness 45 with a 22 conversion kit that came with it. My one complaint is the scratchy DA trigger. Not bad, but it is noticeable. They didn't match CZ quality on that. But otherwise it's a great shooter and stone reliable. Inexpensive too. A bit big for my small hands. It'll never be a CC pistol for me. But as a big old fashioned "built like a tank" 45, it's great.

If you folks do right on your AR24 45 version I may have to trade in the Witness!

Yes we do! We have a .45 calibre version made by the same company Sarsilmaz but I do not think Armalite sells the .45 cal version in U.S but you can contact the company and they would be more then pleased to offer it to you or lead you to another exporter. Sarsilmaz .45 ACP LINK

And on the website they have an e-mail so you can say your location and they will contact you to the nearest dealer.

Armalite will be offering a 45 acp version soon and possibly a 10MM version later this year.

All the Sarsilmaz stuff I saw in Turkey on my last visit there was pretty sweet. Well that, and the MP5's with the collapsible stock your police have. Why does your interior ministry even bother with AK's?

Not exactly surprised.

Thank you for the link! That is a sharp looking pistol. I just wish dealers here would have one that I could handle to see it for myself!

Back in my Navy days I was lucky enough to have liberty in both Greece and Turkey. I enjoyed the heck out of both countries. But I don't see the Greeks producing world class pistols like the Turks do.

Does anyone have one of the Sarsilmaz? I sent an email for info on the Hançer 2000 13+1. Looks sweet. Hope they can be had in the US.

Actually, it's partly that, and partly maternal nurturing. I read a study (wishing I could find) that postulated that a person's hatred of other races or nationalities is a result of upbringing done largely by the mother, which is logical, if perhaps a bit counter-intuitive in the case of males.

Agreed on price, but what if it's "improved" either in features or manufacturing methods?

By that logic only original designs should be bought - so you have a Colt or an Armalite AR?

Do you still want to drive a 1959 Austin Mini or rather a new, quiet car with a transverse mounted engine and front wheel drive?

How they make CZ-75s with rails now? A copy made in some hole in dirkadirkastan manufactured to a price or the folks who made and have updated the original.

Handgun tech has not progressed much in 100 years with the exception of polymers and lighter metals used, so it is not the same to compare it with a 40-50 year old car versus new. To my knowledge the AR-24 does not offer jackshit that is not already available from CZ correct me if I'm wrong, I doubt I am.

I can think of ONE VERY BIG one that the CZ doesn't offer: FORGED FRAME and SLIDE.

I am working on getting some Sarsilmaz-labeled stuff imported into the US. They're not good at dealing with anyone who is not a government employee though (i.e. the concept of competition and relatively free markets), so this may take some time.

WAIT never mind the SA XD said you can

They kept the same name here and charge $980 for it!

I just adore Australian gun prices!
