A lot of great info here. Still have a question though. I am looking to replace the oem sites on my G26. It's my CCW pistol and is purely used for SD, it goes to the range a lot, but I am not shooting at targets any further out than 21 feet.
I was looking at trijicon HDs or XS Big Dots. It seems the gun celebs love the big dots but the regular shooter prefers the HDs. What are some opinions? Thanks! |

Instead of big dots I personally like a regular post and notch sight with a highly visible front sight and all black rears, but with a large amount of light/space between the post and notch.
With the added space they are very fast on target, yet very accurate if need be for longer shots. I use warren tactical/sevigny sights. Ameriglo also has some real good sights. |

I have the Trijicon HD sights on my G19 - front site is fine , but the rear site confuses my eyes expecially at night . What rear night sight would work will with my HD front sight?

I have big dots on my g30sf for carry and I love them. I had them on my M&P fullsize and they were much much harder to shoot with on that gun for some reason. |

Ameriglo CAP on my Gen4 G23 I'm amazed at how bright these are View Quote Cap ftw. These things are so bright with just a quick charge. Super nice |

So I got a set of the Trijicon HD's for my 19. I had no rear sight tool. The front went on simply enough. I let one of our armorers put the rear sight on. He was using the current Glock rear sight pusher/tool.
Apparently the new Glock tool does not play nice with the HD rear sight. The jaws went up and over the low portion of the rear sight. He didn't realize this is what happened. Then the tool got stuck. He couldn't get the tool off. He finally got the thing off, destroying the tool in the process. My slide is okay, but the rear sight is cosmetically marred for life. Lesson learned. The current Glock tool sucks, and should not be used for installing the HD rear sight. Or anything. Expensive lesson learned. |
|
That sucks. I've installed 2 sets of HDs with my MGW tool without any trouble.
|
|
Yea I dropped it off and came back to a surprise. A little black paint may save it, we'll see. Tomorrow we will use a good tool.

I installed a set of Trijicon Glock 9mm sights on my Glock 30S 45ACP.
They fit perfect and POI is just a inch or two high at 10 yards which I consider perfect. If I had gone with the taller rear sight (45ACP) impact would have been too high for me. |

This is why a brass punch works best. Sorry for your bad luck...

It is official. Glock sight tools are junk, MGW sight tools are awesome. I was loaned an MGW tool today and my sights went on with no issues. Put 20 rounds through the gun and they look great.
Now I'll probably end up buying the right tool for the job. Anyone know if an alumiblack pen will work on the rear sight? Gloss or matte? |

I've been thinking about this exact setup for my 26. But I might go with a Truglo front sight if I can't find the HD individually. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Does anyone run Trijicon HD front sight with 10-8 rear? I've been thinking about this exact setup for my 26. But I might go with a Truglo front sight if I can't find the HD individually. I believe they can be purchased individually from Optics Planet or directly from Trijicon. I'm currently running 10-8 sights with FO front and .140 rear but I can't help to think that a Trijicon HD front and .156 10-8 rear would be a great setup. What I'm wondering is if they're compatible (mainly height). |

Not sure how long it's gonna take to come in, when it does if no one has posted anything I'll take a few pics and post them up. |

Just a heads up, I ordered the sights. I should see them middle of next week. I'll post up a few pics, it's not gonna be the HD sight but it is the Trijicon front.

I mistakenly (due to my lack of reading skills) bought the TruGlo Fiber Optic sights on Amazon, thinking they were TFO's at a really stellar price. Reading is critical, kids. Anyways, already spent the money, so I thought I would stick with them for a little bit. So far, I've been happy with them. I've only shit it in daylight hours. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c395/slowmethinks/IMAG1134_zps64a605d3.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c395/slowmethinks/IMAG1136_zpsfe0af1e1.jpg 9 out of 13 hits for the first mag on my new home made gong. Be sure to order a .165" tall front sight if keeping the stock rear. The big dot front sight is going to be too wide for the OEM rear. |

Okay so I have read this whole thread and some of the links in this thread. From what I am reading the fiber front sights will not work in the dark, just low light and daytime. I dont understand why the back sight would be all black. can someone explain? als I was on Ameriglo's website and I ave no clue what the difference between operator, U-rap, I dot, pro, pro operator, Hack , hackathorn, protector, Greek or Greece lighting, or any of the other styles. I just bought a G17 and I am waiting on it to come and I would like to change out the sights. The pistol will be used for Home defense and range, and maybe carry. If you dont want to explain it in the thread can you please IM me. Thank you.

Mods please remove if this isnt the place to ask questions. But does anyone think Meprolights (like these: https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1240&CAT=94 ) would be a good set of sights for the purpose of CC and HD in my Glock 19? Currently just have the stock sights but they are hard to see at night and need to upgrade.

My personal firearms instructor moved my rear sights the first moment My partner and i took my very first class there... He stated in which concerning 70-80% of proper handed Glock shooters require this kind of adjustment
